Restore Vista to Factory Settings w/ No CDs?

Is there any way to restore a Vista Laptop to Factory Settings with no CDs, and possibly without having to reinstall Drivers?

The laptop is a Sony Vaio.

Basically is there any way to restore my laptop to the way I first got it?

No, unless your laptop has a separate recovery partition- which I highly doubt.

Your best bet is to borrow a Vista DVD from someone else. Windows Vista usually automatically downloads all the drivers required for your laptop if you have internet connection. You will not be able to get back all the software that was bundled with your laptop.

Another alternative is to just buy a factory setting Vista DVD specifically made for your laptop from Sony Support.

Why would you want to restore it to the default anyway, they always come with all that factory shit that's completely useless, but if uninstalled fucks everything up...

You could try to download vista from torrent pond or something, then just reinstall it, and delete your old partion that you have. You would have to re install all drivers though.

Look and see if your computer has a restore program on it, it may put it back to the factory settings.

If not, buy a disk or borrow, lend whatever you may do to get it. I advise you not to get one off a torrent as it may be corrupt, so on.

Let us see how it goes eh?

Most newer model laptops come with a recovery partition. Google how to find and use them. Wish you the best of luck restoring your laptop!
