Alright so I used to have Vista Ultimate, VB6 worked fine, even great. Then I put XP back on it, and now I have to use Vista Home Premium since it's the only thing that works on my computer now after some upgrades. So, when I run VB6, I get an "OLE registry" error, which can be fixed by running the program with Administrator. But, even running it in compatibility mode, I still can't fix the following problem: the form designer (the part where you design the form, with the controls and such) LAGS like hell. I've got 2GB of RAM and no more than 5% of my dual-core processor being used, but it still lags. Coding and everything else works, even resizing the form, just placing the controls it a total bitch to do. What I'm trying now is I uninstalled the VB I had, and am just going to download all of damn Visual Studio 6.0; I'll need VC++ 6.0 at some point anyway. So, any ideas?

I believe this is a common error with vista and vb6. It happens on mine so I am sure it is just something we have to live with.

Use a virtual machine and run XP on it, and install visual studio 6 on there.

I'd recommend using a version actually compatible with Vista, but then again, people don't seem to care about deprecation.

Just download an old copy of Windows (i.e. Windows 2000) so you can run it on a Virtual Machine without having too many issues.

try to set the compatibility mode to xp or 2000 or something, that helps sometimes, if not, then just get vb.net 2008 i guess

Disable Vista Aero, same thing happens to me with it enabled.
