Will Sythe's layout ever change?

Know that this post isn't to shit on Sythe's layout...

Most people I speak to about Sythe say they don't use it because the layout is horrible and grossly outdated, one person described it as an antique. This isn't an exaggeration, people legitimately don't use it for that reason. Is a new design in the works? Or do old Sythe members never want it to change?

Ngl I do agree, I like the flat much better than the modern look and it's just more appealing to look at quite honestly. Would be nice if that was the default look

 

This layout is pretty good, cant be much different than this cuz its xenforo

 

I actually didn't know about the flat theme, it's going to take a while to get use to now

 

Its like reddit. Its simple and straightforward. I don't think they'll change it.

I actually like the modern view. It's easy to look at & use. anyone who chooses not to use a forum because the layout is "basic" has no business being here anyways.. Lol!

 

I like the blue one, but not a fan of the logo.

 

Should set things up so that half of new visitors see one style and half see the other the first time they come to Sythe. Then look at engagement (accounts created, total time on sythe, etc.) after a few months to see which is more attractive. Then make that one the default.

 

Just found out about the flat version. Holy moly this is much more appealing! Too bad everyone's signature looks off with that blue bg against the grey :/

I mean maybe what he's getting at is it looks like such an old site and not quite as "professional" as sythe alternatives?

 

More than half the people I talk to from OSbot don't use it for that reason; Not even an exaggeration either. The layout still needs to be touched up on to make it more intuitive to new users - It feels like the only reason it hasn't changed is because of old users clinging onto nostalgia and the fact they don't want to learn a new layout. People hate big changes and I get that, but if it's turning away new people, maybe it should be looked at.

I'd post pictures of people talking about the layout but I'd have to make them as a link because the site doesn't allow you to copy and paste pictures... Most sites allow you to directly upload images, the site just seems to be stuck in the past.

I want the best for the site... I'm not trying to shit-talk in any type of way, just get across the point that maybe a design change is overdue.
