[DENIED]Have staff notify you whenever a report is handled

Whenever I report any thread/user or whatever it might be (outside of RAS). It’s almost like they ignore me LOL why would anyone ever wanna do that..

Not knowing outcome and how to potentially further address the report in question (what went wrong) is not only annoying, but also a lack of effort on mods end. If anything reports being made towards posts/users contributes in keeping the community a «safer» space.

Granted some mods are more active than others and they all handle diff sections of the forum(s), but yet I only get notified 50% ~ of the time.

Currently @Gladiator is the ONLY one who participate in notifying me the outcome afaik.

Creds to @Wortel as he was a godsend at notifying me and resolving reports in a timely manner.

 

4real tho it’s quite frustrating as you are unlikely to remember what you reported throughout the day. If something involves you directly or not you should be notified, reporting potential frauds aswell, theres room for improvement here.

 

The "handled" responses you often see happen because staff normally go through reports in batches and put something in the little text field we get before reports are resolved. Copy-pasting is easiest when there are dozens of little reports lying around. I'm pretty sure the "notify user that you've handled their report" thing is toggleable but may be misremembering... it's been 3 years.

That said, I wouldn't mind if that little pop-up saying "so and so has handled your report" linked you to the post you reported, but I'm not sure how permissions work for normal users viewing deleted posts/threads.

 

Putting into context I’ve reported a buying thread in the sales section, what ends up happening is that I do not get notified unless Gladiator is the one handling it. It’s just poor effort on mods end there is nothing else to it.

 

Respect to @BlackBlasses as he always notifies me also, i think it depends on the section.

But maybe on there end they could have a tick box that notifies the reporter or something.

 

I'm pretty sure this exists already. Maybe just need to check it by default? @Matthew can you remind me if I'm wrong/if this is doable? Seems like a small QoL adjustment.

 

This already exists, every post report can and should be signed off by the Moderator who deals with it
