[DENIED]Comission staking

Remove this rule:


Half of threads were locked in RuneScape Miscellaneous section today morning because of this specific rule.

Im not really sure why commission staking woudnt be allowed on sythe its just another method to gamble.

 

I support this suggestion

My reasoning for supporting this is because gambling discords are allowed to be advertised, and so, if someone wanted to offer commission staking services they would be allowed to simply create a discord server for it and advertise it in RuneScape miscellaneous section so it doesn't really make any sense to not allow it to be advertised in a thread.

 

The problem is, it's too easy to fake stakes, and it would be tons of work for mods to handle these reports

No idea why it shouldn't be advertised, commision staking is one of the most popular ways for someone to gamble and to not allow it on sythe you might as well ban gambling completely. Let's not forget there are advertisers who have purchased banners on Sythe who have commision staking, are you going to remove that too?

If a bettor requests for you to livestream the commision stake so they can observe, the host shouldn't have any issues with doing so.

 

The only way i would support this if this was made a requirement. We have too many shady "trusted" people here already who would snake every dollar they can knowing they wont get caught

 

Furthermore why can you have a banner that is able to advertise commision staking, but you can't have it in a thread? how does that even make sense? if you're really going to ban advertising commision staking (for whatever reason) you might as well do it properly.

And if they are worried about people faking stakes, why not remove advertising for gambling unless its provably fair? People can fake that shit too.

Ppls are not allowed to vouch for commission staking / dicing as far as i know so ppls cant really gain fake trust with it.

Commission staking is not somthing new Stake of w54 [and few other clans] advertise commission staking on sythe since 2015 so im not really sure why this became problem now.

Sow also had top banner on sythe for like 3 months advertising commission staking and all was fine [DDyce litterary have bottom banner advertising commission staking rn]

 

I mean is it pointless =? im not asking for whole section to be added im just saying they shoud remove rule which forbid commission staking

I mean if commission staking is so bad why took staff 4 years to lock threads ?



they been known under diff names like King of w301 ( on 07) stake of w54 and so … they advertised commission staking for 4 years on sythe and there was no problems at all for example.

 

Support given the fact this has been around for years. All places that offer dicing are offering commission staking so I don’t see why targeting one form of gambling makes much sense. Many banners for gambling clans provide commission staking as an advertisement

 

I'm going to offer support as well. For many of the reasons above and it is just a method of gambling really.

 

In your situation bettor woud still get paid out, (what you said was he coud make 100m or lose 100m and all stakes are 50 50)

- And im pre sure all clans have rule which tells ranks that they have to stream

 

With proper guidelines commission staking is both more legitimate and enjoyable than other gambling because the staking hosts actually want the bettor to profit.
With proper management of hosts such as ensuring everything is recorded, streams are clear and they have a refundable bet allowance; there's no reason why commission staking should be prohibited - especially if Sythe isn't doing anything against non-provably fair / rigged servers.

I would like to present my server on Sythe as a clean, legitimate and reputable community and I think it's a shame that I am unable to do that.

Fuck the guidelines/rules on commission staking its like dicing there are multiple places to dice with various different odds, you choose whether you go to 52x2 or 55x2, provably fair or not. If the person staking won't meet your personal requirements don't go with them, most reputable places already require people to stream the stakes anyway.

 

Dicing 55x2 is gambling with a 10% tax applied over a large number of rolls; commission staking is gambling with a 10% tax applied immediately.

The scam potential is probably greater for dicing so I'm not sure why commission staking would be prohibited. It should be up to users to decide whether to partake in these sorts of gambling activities.

Commission staking/gambling is interlinked and should be up to the user to trust any sole person(s), or any larger group(s) that they may wish to trust/bet with.

The same applies to buying/selling gold, it's up to the user to decide who they trust. The rules that were made in regards to why ABM reported and got all our threads locked were as follows: [Section Rules] RuneScape Rentals & Other Services

The "commission staking being forbidden" on ACCOUNT RENTALS should have no link with INDIVIDUAL PERSONS OR ESTABLISHMENTS offering it as a SERVICE. I agree it should not be allowed on account rentals due to potential ban risk on the account, however, if people are risking their own accounts and offering it as a service for people, they should still be able to offer that service. If you're going to lock threads for this specifically, after them being up for 4+ years, you may as well lock all gambling threads and ban them from promoting themselves on Sythe, as well as ban them from purchasing Sythe ad spots, and ban them from sponsoring sythe events.

We've been around since 2014/15 and have never had any issues, any problems, and have supported Sythe as much as we can. We have purchased multiple top and bottom banners in the past and are more than happy to do so in the future, as well as sponsor events.

I would modify the rules to differentiate commission staking being banned in account rentals from it being offered as a gambling service.

At the same time, we respect @Sythe and staff in any decisions that take place.
