I'm just gonna be honest here, playerauctions.com sucks. They have zero customer loyalty.
I have a positive reputation on Playerauctions.com (100% success rate). I've sold numerous accounts and even items for the game SWTOR. i joined their website in 2015, and had positive experience till recently.

    • I decided to buy an account to use for its large amount of cartel coins ( This account had about 50,000 cartel coins which had a decent real world currency value on top of the life time subscription). Anyways i buy this account, and well within the first 5 months it gets banned thanks to the actions of the seller. I file a dispute, provide my evidence and what not. Note:i also purchased their useless insurance, which honestly serves no purpose.
    • Anyways, i provide my evidence, wait for the seller to provide his evidence too. However, the seller does not reply to the dispute, and it gets escalated to their final dispute council or whatever they call it. Anyways, these people go in favour of the seller despite my evidences showing the account was banned. Again, the seller did not even reply to the dispute. I even asked them to look at the chat logs between me and the seller when i purchased the account. I even offered to provide additional evidence to them, however the CSR on the email kept sending me automated bullshit replies, that did not address any of my concerns. Nor would they let me speak to the supervisor, nor would they allow me to dispute the case again. They Straight up closed the dispute, and ended my insurance on the account. The insurance lasts a year, and it has only been about 8 months.
    • The insurance sucks, and this statement is a total lie:
"All game accounts purchased by Verified members and above through PlayerAuctions are guaranteed after sale support. For those members wishing for extra security for their purchased accounts, PlayerAuctions offers insurance packages which are protect against the rare event of your purchased game account ever being irrecoverably reclaimed or suspended due to the previous owner. If this occurs and PlayerAuctions is unable to completely restore your access to the undamaged game account, PlayerAuctions will award you with PlayerAuctions Market Credit equal to the specific insurance package price, usable toward any purchases of any products offered for sale at PlayerAuctions."
    • They did a terrible job providing any support to me. i got jack shit despite being on that site since 2015. I emailed them countless times, kept getting automated bullshit replies from the CSR. I asked to speak to their supervisor too, same old automated bullshit reply. The account i purchased is still banned, the seller was never seen again. And to be quite honest, i have lost my trust in Playerauctions.com. I would NOT recommend them for anything.

    @Lord_Zaros:
Hey there, Zaros. Thank you for explaining the issue you have with our platform in great detail. I want to state for the record and firstly that refund cases are handled on a case-to-case basis. I'm not asking you to do it since it will take a huge amount of your time, but if you go through old discussions here, you will see that users are able to get a refund, provided they purchased insurance (sometimes even without it, we still issue refunds) and are able to report the issue right away. These are two important pre-requisites for us to be able to hold the seller's payment and issue it outright as a refund, or even without that, if the evidence is sound, we deduct the seller's disbursement and issue it as a refund or just pay it out of our own pocket.

That said, not all cases turn out favorably for the buyer and this is if the evidence isn't sufficient. Sellers are hardly required to send a response, because the buyer is required to validate his claim and without that, sellers often don't need to send any reply. I'm sorry your order turned out this way, and I can respect that you want to leave feedback here for others to see.

If there's anything I can help with or stuff you'd like to discuss or ask, you can PM me; I'm here on Sythe every Mondays to Fridays.

Website is down. Has been down for over 12 hours. People are contacting me to buy stuff, and I cannot do anything. If I recall correctly, the same issue occurred 2/3 months ago but it wasn't this long.

Hi there. Our security system for this was recently made stricter; If there are any inconsistencies or inaccuracies with your account, the payment will be declined. Please double check to make sure all of your info are correct and that your info at PA matches the one on your account. Once you're able to do that, kindly try again and if it still fails, you may try using the other payment methods at the site.

Hello again. The website issue happened late during Sunday up until early Monday. Our tech team has addressed the issue and it should be back to normal from here on. Really sorry for the trouble you had with this.

Any news on AmazonPay? No one seems to be able to buy an account that is priced $200 or higher since the payment system declines almost all payments now.

None as of yet, I'm really sorry about it. We're having a different issue with AmazonPay as PayPal so we haven't conclusively taken it out of PA just yet. I'll give the respective team about this a remark to have it checked if something can be done. Again, apologies for the continued hassle on your part, Neopanama.

I bought a Runescape account from playerauctions.com and I added Player Guardian Insurance to my purchase. The account was recovered by the seller a few days later. I've opened a dispute on playerauctions.com, and I began searching online for similar disputes. I read that Player Guardian will require the buyer (me) to send screenshot proof that the account I bought was indeed recovered, and that that screenshot proof must be a conversation between me and Runescape's creator company Jagex. It is impossible for me to ask Jagex if an account that I bought on playerauctions.com has been recovered by the original owner, and even if it was possible, Jagex would NOT comply. is playerauctions really going to demand this screenshot evidence before fulfilling my refund?

I also read that if playerauctions does not refund me, and I claim the money back through a dispute to my credit card company, that playerauctions will disable my playerauctions.com account. Is this true, too?

Apparently, the person who sold me the account on playerauctions.com has had his account disabled already! I have two problems with this.. Why weren't his buyers informed that he got banned?? I would have really appreciated knowing he got banned for scamming someone else before he had scammed me!! Now I lose my gold, and Player Guardian won't reimburse me for it!! Secondly, is there not a way to expedite my claim dispute since the seller clearly cannot respond to it within 72 hours as he's banned from your site!?!?!?!!

C'mon playerauctions, is this all you can show for your professionalism??

Playerauctions is making me wait for the seller to respond to my dispute; however, the seller's account has been removed from the playerauctions.com website (banned?). How much longer do I need to wait to be refunded? I paid extra for PlayerGuardian insurance, where's my assurance..?

I'm really sorry but without proper evidence, we cannot rule out cases in favor of the users who are raising a dispute. Your seller was most likely banned due to repeated reports from the same user or from a few users, or a combination of both. Even though we do not find any compelling evidence to incriminate him, our staff may decide to permanently suspend sellers if we continue to receive reports about him.

Please note that even with insurance, we still require compelling evidence, as stated in our disclaimer:
    https://i.imgur.com/xuvAhYo.png

I'm afraid the insurance package does not provide buyers an auto-win, instant refund scenario in disputes. What it gives is the opportunity to get a refund once the user is able to prove his case. Can you PM me the order ID for this so I can check? Depending on circumstances, you might still be eligible for a refund. Though I can't guarantee it at this point, I will definitely check for you.

We haven't done any country block and we have a policy to keep the site open to everyone. Could it be your ISP? Please check with them if this continues to happen. Alternatively, it might just be a temporary error, so kindly try again. We received reports in the past that restarting the router seems to fix this.

I saw your imgur link, and have just one question for you--and anyone else affiliated with playerauctions:

"*Please note that our insurance packages do not cover instances where: 1) you are unable to provide evidence that the game account has been reclaimed by a previous owner,..."

How would any buyer of a OSRS account on Playerauctions.com be able to provide ANY solid evidence that the game account has been reclaimed by a previous owner WITHOUT being in contact with the previous owner??? Please answer me!

Hello again. This can come in the form of email or Twitter correspondences by Jagex (or other game companies for other games) where they state the account is recovered or reclaimed by the original owner. This can also come in other email notices that are automated that show you the account was recently recovered.

We don't limit it to just that, and we also accept on-site conversations that imply the account was recovered, such as the seller admitting to you that he/she needs to change the password or recover back the account so he/she can give it to you. Or that an email change was locked, and the email left on it is owned by him/her. This part/aspect is flexible and is subject to deliberation — it would greatly help if you can grab a screenshot related to this and explain why you think it implies the seller recovered the account.

The best way is to send evidences in bulk, and label them if possible just to give a heads up to our staff what to expect in the screenshots they receive.

The timing is also important — you need to report the recovery within the insurance period but if from the get go there are problems already, you need to report it right after purchasing the account as this gives us time to deliberate on the case, hold any funds the seller may have, and decrease the likeliness that he will settle all his/her business at PA and leave.

Just PM me if you have more questions about this.

So, without on-site conversations with the seller, the account buyer's only way to be refunded is to message Jagex by email or Twitter asking them the following:
Hey guys, so I bought an account on a website called PlayerAuctions. I know it's against the rules, and I know you don't like players doing this, but would you please support my rule-breaking behavior by informing me if an account that I bought with real-life money on PlayerAuctions.com was recovered or reclaimed by the original owner? C'mon Jagex! It's not that big of a deal... Just comply with my request, though I didn't comply with yours on not rule-breaking.

Do you honestly believe Jagex is going to respond to that with any useful evidence what-so-ever??

Hello. My PA user is "boredatwork".

I bought an acct on PA for $80 from PA user "JamesWatson1337". The acct is an OSRS maxed gmauler (almost maxed). JamesWatson1337 recovered it, and he got suspended. The dispute was in my favor, and I got refunded because I bought PlayerGuardian insurance. Someone signed into the reclaimed OSRS account earlier TODAY. I messaged him in-game, and we chatted for a while. His PA username is natebair (natebair's Feedback Profile | PlayerAuctions), and I have his email (but I won't post it here publicly). It turns out, natebair bought the reclaimed account on PA from a PA user named "Neverbroker123".

I made a Sythe Report A Scammer thread:
I was scammed for the account I bought.

The ban-evader's PA username in my transaction was JamesWatson1337. Apparently, it's now Neverbroker123.
    Neverbroker123's Feedback Profile | PlayerAuctions

The account login name is "[email protected]". Please check the message logs between Neverbroker123 and Natebair; and ban the ban-evader; and modify your system to prevent previously reclaimed accounts to be relisted and sold on your platform!

Hi there, SoCal. Thank you for going out of your way to inform us about this. I asked our risk management head to check on this and we spotted irregularities with his sales, relevant to what you showed me here. The user is now banned on our site, and all succeeding accounts he creates will be linked to it and banned as well.

    @boredatwork1:
Thanks for the full details, the department head is now looking into this as I type/post this message. I'll post a follow up once we find anything.
