[APPROVED]$1000 and up Donator Roles on Discord

I disagree. Pointless and unnecessary.

 

We want 200 and 300, we wont be moved!

 

I honestly don't think it should be added, a pointless addition/perk.

And the $500 discord rank should be removed.

There's many other ways to motivate people to donate (for the perks or not), but this is not one of them.

 

If pointless and unnecessary, same should be said for the $500 discord rank. serves ultimately no purpose other than name color on discord.

Figured this would happen. Add a speciifc $500 rank and people will ask for their own ranks. 500 was pointless to add, 1000 is pointless to add etc. No support.

 

The way i see it is we should either get all milestone ranks or neither, because there will be endless discussions like this.

Keep the 3 groups for staff then put everyone else into the same group, I struggle to understand how grown men care so much about the color of their name in a discord

 

If $1,000 donors want to flaunt their hot-pink name due to having supported the site via a $1,000 donation, then that's their god given right.

Heck, $1,000 donors should have more perks - potentially access to select emojis, ability to have their own private channel with perms to move ppl in/out, reduced timer in gold channels (this may not be appropriate, due to its association with "market advantages" via donating), etc. Obv these are just spurr of the moment ideas, and i'm sure there are far better/more applicable ones. Also, $1,000 donor is just a limit threshold example. Perks could start at a lower/higher threshold with increased availability to perks the higher you progress.

Also, I want to clarify, these are PERKS of hitting said donor threshold. No, they do not need to be given to all tiers of donors. In the same way that a custom username image is a $200 donor perk threshold and only available once you hit said threshold.

 

$1,000 isn't chump change. If they want a pixelated image for their overwhelming support towards this site, then just give it to them. I don't see the big deal other than those who aren't in that same group not wanting further exclusion. At the end of the day, it isn't a big deal!

You’re so funny, people donate for 2 reasons. 1. Upkeep and support of site. 2. Showing off your donation amount and roles. You think people only donate to support? Yes the main reason is supporting but its not the only reason... people want to show off and look cool. So you’re the dumbass.

 

Even though there would be no use for me at all for the 1'000$+ Donor Rank on discord, I wouldn't mind it obviously.

I've simply gainned the 1k donor to help me get more traffic / save time using MM's everytime / earn more trusts and it deffinitly helped compared to the 50-200$ donator competitor I had back then.

As stated above, if you are looking to find a way to motivate people to donate to 500-1000, deffinitly needs to add some perks because currently there is none.

-Potentially Bump every 6 hours instead of 8? (4 times a day instead of 3 doesn't seem like overkill)
-Ofcourse the 1k donator on discord even though it doesn't do anything.
-Maybe a 500$/1000$ donor only section on the forums to take part of some discussions regarding the website?


Just throwing some random ideas, ofcourse donating should ONLY be if people really wanted and shouldn't give any benefits, but if you do want people to donate like you posted above, Donating 500-1000$+ should give a few little benefits, nothing huge but atleast something.

Although I think having the discord role is kind of pointless as I would rarely scroll down just to look at the people listed in the $500+ donor list but I think that they do deserve this perk since they get no addition perks for donating this amount. @Alexandre had some good ideas that could be added as perks for example the 6 hour bump could motivate people to donate more.

 

Support I guess? Though if we have a donor rank for all donors and a $500+ exclusive one, I don't think its much of a stretch to expand on what we have and make one for all the major donor ranks. There are only 7 different tiers in the User Center, we may as well just have all of them.

I think either take away the $500 Role or alternatively Make all donation roles on discord $5,$25,$50,$100,$200,$500,$1000 etc but just go into

Server settings > Roles > Click all those roles above individually > Turn off "Display Role Members Separately From Online Members"

That way they get the role they wanted, But it wont be show on the side bar

However i agree that it would be a pointless addition as someone who uses discord all the time, I very rarely check the sidebar let alone the Role titles

 

I'm going to offer support as well. It's a very minor change but I don't see a specific reason not to do it.
