[DENIED] RWT Goldfarmer bans for services

If you aren't familiar with these bans, they are essentially "goldfarmer" bans. These bans are common from users who have other workers that train accounts that are located in third world countries. The accounts get caught up in sweeps regardless if it was being goldfarmed on or not. These are completely different from macroing bans.

Anyone who regularly has accounts trained from users from VE/Pakistan would be pretty familar with this.

After reading the report Tyler has created, I am wondering what the stance on this is. Surely Tyler is deceiving users because he knows his workers are from third world countries, and there is a chance the account will get banned. Then he falls back on his TOS to protect him from everything. Atleast make it clear you aren't using american servicers or put your workers on proxies.

These bans are literally 100% the fault of the workers as it's based on their location, and there is nothing a misinformed buyer can do about it. These bans should always result in the account value being replaced. The owner of the services is literally too lazy to spend a couple dollars for proxies to ensure safety.

 

Well if a worker gets your account banned he should refund it's value in my opinion, but not letting customer know their account is trained be venezuelans/pakis would be sketchy af as it's same risk as just botting it. If your service isn't safe enough for you to be able to cover the losses just close the useless business (cuz it's as scam like acckings)

 

Account pricing should always be taken into affect and not hidden behind a TOS.

At the end of the day, I have yet to personally hire a vene worker due to the mass bans. We have discussed it several times between my team and we have always said it's a possibility they will just leave the service after and leave us with the outcome.

It's a hard position to be in, because just a few years ago it was the Chinese gold farmers getting all the stick, now it's a completely different country all together. I understand people need to live and in some of these third world countries they do make a good living off it, but the bottom line is if they are being treated this way with bans, then there should be a full signed discloser stating that there are these types of people working on accounts, if so then they hold to the liable for their workers, as they should.

 

I support, if the account is being trained in a "third world country" Then it needs to be specified before hand. If the account is banned because of this it should have to be refunded. Hiding behind a ToS isn't a good way to conduct business if it was done in a shady way. That goes for everyone in my opinion.

 

Tell the Venezuelans to use a vps or vpn and have them prove they are. If you receive a ban from a service it should be refunded at all costs however I believe that when providing a service the person should state where they are located and if they are using a vpn/vps

 

How have you come to that conclusion, do you know how the hiring process for our services works? Or are you just assuming I know everything about my employees

If people don't wish to use our services due to our ToS they are free to find another service provider, this is a free market after all

No support. Too much to regulate, too hard to actually govern. Anyone can claim their workers are from the UK and if you still got banned, what then? Can you prove the worker was NOT from UK? Just a thought.

On the one hand, if the service provider actively hid the fact that they use venezuelan(example) workers and failed to tell the client, i do agree some measure of punishment is in order for deceptive trade practices if you can prove it.

On the other hand, if you knew that service provider uses third world nation trainers and still go ahead with ordering, whose fault is that? You're kinda asking for it by taking the risk. Sounds bloody stupid if you knowingly engaged a vene worker, got banned then demand compensation from him lol.

Its like contracting HIV from a prostitute from unprotected sex and then blaming her for it. Then again, if you asked if she had HIV and she said no/hid it from you, you can bring her to court.

Its a gray area though. Sythe admin likely/or not likely will not force service providers to disclose who they use as trainers. So this turns the whole account training scene into a bloody minefield. Unless you explicitly ask who is training your account, for all you know dear ____ has been using a little vene worker who's training your account and running ten bot farms at the same time, on the same ip.

 

Support, in the stance that there should be a signifying title outlining where your account will be trained from. This can play out in 2 ways, either you can pay more for your account to be trained in your geological location / country or you can pay lower & run the risk. The customer should be informed about this though.
Using proxies shouldn’t be an option, just because you won’t be to 100% determine if the worker is using them. The work should be outsourced to the geological area.

No support, this is another thing that the free market already handles well on its own.
Services that use VZ workers usually already state that they use VPNs i.e. FancyHire.
There's several sites that also advertise that they're from the west/from a particular region as a reason to use them.

 

And yet some of them dont, which borders deceptive business practices. So what's staff's take on this then? Should service providers be forced to disclose where their workers are based in or if they use VPNs? And what would a good way to verify?

The free market doesnt 'handle it well'. The accounts training sections has loads of trainers who offer services with no indication that they outsource to venes and nothing is done about that.

You get what you pay for.
Usually work/services that are cheaper than the typical market prices will tend to be from workers that live in 3rd world countries which don't mind doing the same labor for cheaper. If there's a higher ban risk it's at your expense since you're saving money with the service.

The customer is entitled to request where a worker is from and make their decision based on the answer. We have no way of knowing how or why Jagex applies a RWT Goldfarmer ban to accounts so it would be unfair to hold service providers responsible.
