[DENIED] Disallow bumping services

No support. Getting an autobump service at the fraction of the price of an autobumper is more worthwhile. On top of that, there's no real difference between a user autobumping their service and a user having someone else bump their thread. Sure they might not own it, but your post count theory is completely irrelevant, because whether a user decides to autobump their thread themselves, or whether they have someone else to do it, post count will always be affected, post count isn't just suddenly stopped just because a user bumps it themselves.

If you have any proof of people having their thread autobumped whilst not being online, please provide some proof. Also, I'd like to mention here that a user can autobump their thread themselves and not be online, so that point is also irrelevant. As the mods always say, you're free to report posts of users who have their threads autobumped whilst not being online.

I think this is a biased suggestion, as nobody is buying your terrible autobumper, and as a result, you will need to affect the autobumping industry in order to get that sold on the market.

EDIT: Also I'd like to note, if you did in fact work for Bogla, you should absolutely be able to bump threads for RSGM although, not sure why you would back your competition if you were doing that. The reasoning behind this, is that, these sites are owned by two different people who in turn, own two separate companies.

 

Support not allowing bumping services but I do not support not allowing autobumpers. If you want to bump, manually bump it yourself or buy an autobumper.

 

Support. That stuff is dumb anyways. People also shouldn't be able to post a thread and run a said service for someone else. Seeing bumps/posts from a more trusted member (or vice versa) can help/hurt their business I believe. It can mislead one to tie a certain member to a service that in reality said member has nothing to do with their service.

 

I suggest a change in the rule that forces users to make their bump accounts. Then services can use the buyer's accounts rather than their own.

 

I feel like this should be a feature that is purchased from the website, or Sythe himself, to benefit the website & support the
community however that gets done here. I don't feel like people should be able to profit from an automated service, or even
a service that makes people not have to do things on their Sythe accounts.

I am all for stopping the sales of auto-bumping people's threads.
I am also for auto bumpers, purchased through Sythe that goes back into the community that anybody can purchase.

I also feel the price should be high for it, or come as a donation perk of $100+ donation or something.

 

No support at all. It just acts as an unnecessary hindrance. People are going to use autobumpers either way. The services is just a much cheaper option to do so.

Informing the public of the service provider's non-affiliation is what's important. Not sure if it's already a requirement but it should be mandatory to mention they've no connection to the thread other than automated bump.

 

I agree with Pakora above, at the end of the day autobumpers are going to be used. But a fair compromise to what OP has said and others is that the bumper should make it clear that their bump is purely that - a bump. So long as it's clear they aren't affiliated with whoever/whatever thread they are bumping it is fine

 

I completely agree with Hahanerd, this is a free market and people should be allowed to sell/buy whatever they want as long as it meets the guidelines (e.g no blackhat)
It is the same with the current thread up about "buying vouches" - until a system is brought in like profile feedback I don't think we should keep limiting and attacking peoples way of business. Sythe is great because of it's free market, I don't want to see that taken away.

 

Why not just implement a bump button via Xenforo does it not have an add-on? Its much better than having auto bumpers and all that other non sense.

Although its true its a free market and people should be able to do whatever they want inside guidelines but then again an automated bump service really! its just more spam.

 

We did have the Xenforo bump feature, however, it enabled users to early bump without being detected and was abused.

I don't see any harm in users bumping other users threads, if they are early bumping they will receive the same punishment that everyone gets.

I do not personally use a auto bumper on any websites, nor will I ever. I feel it is far too over-rated, and so many people use it and it's just pure laziness.

If I want to offer a service, i'm going to comment on a thread stating that. If I want to sell gold I am going to make a thread and comment on it stating it.

Sythe is a free-market where one can buy and sell service/product as long as they meet the guidelines. as long as a auto-bumper is aloud for individual use than it should also be aloud for providing services to people who don't have autobumper software.

I don't see why people shouldn't be able to pay to save their time while making money for other users on the site for a simple task that takes a few minutes out of your day.

 

No support but I think that having trusted users bump untrusted user's threads might give the idea of the two people working together. I think that all bump messages must warn that they don't work together and are just bumping to not give the wrong idea to new users.

Sythe is a FREE MARKET

I am busy IRL and really don't care to log on here and bump my threads every 8 hours.

It has made my life a whole hell of a lot easier.

 

Support, Sythe may be a free market but I would consider it to have many barriers to entry for people trying to provide services/accounts, with one of them being these huge business owners auto-bumping.
