Community Development Team Suggestions & Feedback

A live-trivia event based on Sythe.org history/events/happenings/scandals/etc may be interesting to have (note: I suggest Sythe.org, as google will be of minimal help, if any).

This way new users learn a bit about the sites history and occurrences, and our fellow seasoned users get to fight it out to see who knows the most.

Questions and answers could be chosen by the Admin team/older users, and then passed down to the CDT team, or whatever is optimal.

I'm unsure if there's any free live-trivia type websites out there, but if there is, it could be hosted there. Alternatively, perhaps on discord?

The finer details of team sizes, schedules, etc can be ironed out if this were to go ahead.

 

website called bluffave.com. i used to play vs @Fear there 1v1. could make your own group and invite players and set rules and stuff. might be do able on there. advise checking it out when you have time.

 

In reference to the live trivia above, kahoot.com would work perfectly.

I have used it throughout high school and college. You are able to join via an invite code and then it tracks points based on correct answers and how fast participants answered. give it a look!

 

First off let me say great job CDT. Things are way better now than a year ago and you all are doing awesome work.

One thing that i think could be better is advertising the events and having reminders. I had a busy week and totally forgot about the events so didnt participate. I am sure others did too and I know @Gladiator mentioned he forgot as well until last minute. With how big the CDT team is atm it shouldnt be difficult to keep the threads bumped every day or every other day, so they stay at the top of Comm. General. Three of the easter threads werent touched for almost a week. I also dont really see anyone linking CDT threads in discord either. Would be beneficial to have members linking threads every so often. Having an admin @everyone to remind people about the events every so often would also help, at least once before the events end, as a reminder.

We've recently initiated the #CDT-NEWS channel on discord, we're going to be posting our events in their often so it should serve as a good way to see what events we have going on! This is a new feature that we're trying and we appreciate any feedback you may have on it!

 

With seeing all the recent cool events the CDT has been hosting between the Tetris Event and the Poker Event, I propose we have another Connect Four tournament in the upcoming month (when the current events end and we have filler space). I don't need to explain how the game itself works. I believe the CDT could set-up a bracket or something of the sort for placements/layout.


Thoughts -

• Already hosted one in the past
• Minirank already set-up in the system for it

• Less 'intense' than that of a Poker tournament, should gain large amount of participants.

give me a little to think about it and I will get back to you with some answers about the cheating. i just need to look into more details of game play.

I do think it is worth playing for fun and would have turnout, along with the fact that it doesn't dedicate time to a long game time with the game itself compared to a poker game for example. I *think* i saw something like 70 players enter on the tournament played before. I could be wrong about that though.

That sucks about the pokemon tournament cheater. i myself didn't participate as I don't enjoy Pokemon personally, but thought it was a good idea and draws attraction. Again, I will look into the cheating part and come up with some proposals. thanks boss.

I suggest you host a chess tournament! I'd love to compete in one!

 

If you make it 2 or 3 minute blitz games it's a lot harder to cheat.

 

bullet chess or no balls

 

What I suggested is a chess variant where each player only has 2 or 3 minutes to make their move. Since engines require thinking power/calculation time and the player would have to see what move the opponent makes, then make the move on the engine, see what the engine does, move in the game, their time will probably run out before they can complete the match. What Tyler suggested is similar but bullet chess are 1-minute games, I personally think that's too hard for people who aren't super into chess and would remove a fun factor that is required in a community. For people "experienced" with cheating in chess, 5 minutes might be possible to do, but 3 minutes or lower would be extremely hard, while still being enjoyable for casuals.
