[ACCEPTED] OSRS Pet Miniranks

These are just some examples. The inventory sprites are already the right sizes, within 32x32. People love collecting the pokemon miniranks here on sythe, and players love collecting the osrs pets in-game. Since osrs is the most popular game here on sythe, it feels like a no-brainer to me.

 

Support! How would these be distributed though ? Through events or from personal obtainment & than having to show proof you have one ingame?

proof of ownership is a good idea (At least then I would get some miniranks hehe), but I think community events are more appropriate for the acquisition of miniranks. As for what kinds of events, I have no clue. Maybe admins could distribute the ranks among people deemed worthy of them, for instance, experienced fire capers could receive a jad pet after their 100th cape on sythe. Skilling pets and minigame pets could be given to established osrs service providers, and boss pets could be reserved for events.

I'd support this idea although I would hope that they would be careful about which pets they implement. Would skilling pets also be something you're hoping they would add or are you thinking just pvm pets? None the less, I do like this idea because we have pokemon miniranks and they're basically the same thing ;P

 

No support, we're already occupied with enough miniranks as is and in the end of the day this no longer is a RS-only website, so adding RS miniranks will also encourage others to request miniranks of different games.

 

Fair point, but I think the problem here is with the insane number of pokemon miniranks out there - nearly every pokemon from gen 1 to gen 4, and the possibility of shinies on the horizon. That's like 400+ unique miniranks. On the other hand, there are 42 currently available osrs pets (not including the 'transformable pets such as the olm variations, or noon/midnight).

I would also argue that the website is still mostly focused on RS trading. The RS market forums are the most popular market forums by a large margin.

edit: upon rereading this, you actually just presented the "slippery slope" logical fallacy. So it's not really a fair point, as I incorrectly stated above. Not only this, but minirank requests are not a real issue for the site.

Yeah, I like the skilling pets. Some of them have really good sprites.

 

The website's origin is crystal clear, but it's clear that they've expanded and are now open to other games aswell. Remember this is a blackmarket of a sort, not a circus of miniranks. Previous threads about miniranks were denied, so will this one be for the one and only reason being that we have enough miniranks as is. In the end every individual has their own ideas and creations for new miniranks, so we'll never have a lack of it. Removing miniranks such as te pokemon ones is possible but it won't be happening since I barely ever see something on Sythe being removed.

 

id be open to a select few being added, but not all of them. also, just like the ironman mini suggestion, the criteria to be awarded one would have to be discussed.

We already have enough miniranks. I don't see the point in adding even more atm.

 

By memory yeah we might have them but extremely limited and rare but I’ve yet to still see them added it’s possible even tho my suggestion was accepted it may never even see light

This would be a brilliant idea but sadly as people have said we have tons of them already. I feel if this was to be accepted then there would be a large number of different requests for different games coming in as well.

for the record, I don't think giving ranks to players for achievements unrelated to Sythe.org is a good idea. I'd rather they be earned via activity in the runescape marketplace somehow, or through runescape related cdt events.

 

We are brainstorming some bigger ideas involving new miniranks and potential updates to prizeboxes since they've been around for several years without an update already. We may include these miniranks as part of that, good suggestion
