I think its ok to hit anyone who hits you, male, female, or any other gender they care to represent. Obviously there are subjective elements such as if you think you are in danger, every person is different. A 5 foot guy who is 80 pounds is going to react very differently to someone hitting him than a 6 foot 180 pound guy... its all subjective, but I'm in favor of treating people exactly the same way as they treat you.

For me it depends...

Example: I got home an hour late from being out drinking with friends, and my girlfriend at the time was waiting for me, came up and split my head open with a monkey wrench. One minute I was walking in the door, the next I was laying on my stomach and it felt like the top of my head was on fire. I rolled over, and this girl is standing over me with the monkey wrench above her head, as if she's about to bring it down on my face with all her might... You better bet I socked her right in the fuckin mouth and put her on her ass. Then walked to the hospital and got staples in my head.

I have been punched, scratched, slapped, shoved, threatened and quite literally abused by women at different times in my life, but thats the only time I felt there was a reason to react physically.

I've threatened before... And I might slap a woman for a significant other, but a situation has never gone that far. There's been a few times, due to different circumstances, that a girlfriend has gotten into a verbal disagreement with another woman, and when the other woman gets too aggressive, I've been known to tell em to try it and they'd be fighting me, not her. That's where it's always ended up to current; I threaten they back down. But if shit went down I'd probably open-hand slap a girl for another girl if I cared about her enough.

 

I like to think there's never a good reason to hit a woman or man for that matter with the exception of self defense.

-If someone ( a woman) hit me and walked away, I wouldn't run up and punch them.

-If I felt they were still a threat I would defend myself by necessary means.

In conclusion, yes there would be some exceptions I'd make to hit a woman ( I don't know if my first thought would be to hit rather than restrain them though).

 

If a woman feels its acceptable to hit a man, i think its acceptable to hit her back. Equal rights an all that

 

Unless you're in legitimate danger then I think this is the way to go. Men are naturally stronger so hitting a lady whether full force or not can still be quite damaging and could have unintended repercussions. The goal in my opinion should always be to try to deescalate the violence (whether male or female). If you can get a hold of their arms or restrain them from attacking you until help (more people to deescalate the situation) arrives then I think that should be the go to method.

 

If a woman hit me hard enough it would just turn me on. There aren't many women who can throw a knockout punch, or even know how to jab for that matter.

If I really felt I was in danger, I wouldn't go for a strike anyways, I'd probably try to take them down and pin them in a defensive position. If striking back feels like an option then you were never in real danger to begin with. In any case, if you are physically larger than an aggressive woman, and she isn't using a weapon like a knife or a gun, there is no excuse to stoop to her level. In this case, both parties should know the rules. A fight shouldn't ever need to happen, but if she fucks up and loses it on you, that's no excuse to put a bitch down. Always try to deescalate, and if nothing works, pin them until they are tire out and give up.

 

This sounds like a personal issue. I would try to seek out better relationships and become a less aggressive person in general. If I could tell my girlfriend was about to get in a chick-fight I would literally pick her up and remove her. It sounds fucked but you can't let women you sleep with put you in shitty situations.

I don't know about this. I had a friend tell me one time, that if a woman hits you like a man... then she can get hit like a man. The state that I'm from tho, if a man actually gets hit by a woman, and the cops get involved, then the male will go to jail.

 

Honestly, if a woman hits me once or twice I'm just walking away. If we're in a relationship, its over no questions, if you hit back the law will fuck you so hard. If its like in public and some chick is just bashing the shit out of me I'll probably give her a quick one to the stomach or jaw and then get the fuck out of there because any other dude in the area is gonna come down on you real quick

Hate when people say men should never hit a women, but then when a women hits a man and they do not retaliate you get all the women saying good on her.... Things have really gotten out of control between two sexes and I think that the man has every right to defend himself if he is attacked provokingly.

Hit back if you're only at risk of greater harm or if deflecting a blow. Don't randomly punch back because that puts both of you at risk of assault charges. It's best to knock back and deescalate/leave as best you can.

Women have naturally lower levels of testosterone unless if they're biologically male or have hormonal issues, that limits their natural strength and I'm sure we all know that, so to say. That's why in scenarios like these, usually the law always automatically assumes you could have backed off and just hit her to hit her back - that's why a lot of men get charged even if the woman hit first, because they could have handled it better and should have known that fact.

That being said, I feel it's wrong to say you can't hit back, but it's honestly probably the best way it can be handled. If you're assaulted, don't assault back, if you're hit - don't hit back. Unless you're at risk for greater harm if you don't protect yourself, especially if she has a weapon or further malicious intent i.e premeditation or whatnot. If you're not, just try to deescalate and file a police report if necessary.

 

It depends, like if she punches you in the gut. Well you gotta defend yourself but my opinion is it isn't ideal to hit women and it shouldn't happen unless its for defence
