How to Identify & Avoid Being Scammed on Discord [Guide]

Man in the middle imposter scams are running rampant on Sythe right now. I feel this guide above should be stickied in the guides section or somewhere where its more easily accessible to new users and out of the loop users alike. To go into detail how each imposter scam works with tips and tricks to stay safe on discord, I highly believe this guide will help a lot of people if only it was more readily visible.

I'm not saying this because I wrote it, I'm saying it because it's become a major problem and I truly believe this guide will help people, as it already has with messages I've received regarding it. Thanks.

 

Please sticky this in as many sections as possible. Discord is far worse than Skype and impostors are really out of control. It's pushing new members of the community out at a rapid rate and will significantly contribute to a fall in numbers to members of this site.

Leaving it up to the admins if they'd like to have this sticky posted in particularly the gold sections aswell.

 

That's all and well. I feel like people are less likely to click on that though but anything to bring more awareness I'm all for.

Adding to that, I feel with how rampant imposter scams are, less people will click on that vs a titled sticky that's specific to the issue at hand. Idk though :shrug:

Thoughts are welcome. Just trying to protect as many people as possible and if we have to paint a picture to people to prevent more scams and educate them, that's preferable.

 

Support, Discord is shit and confusing and current stickies are from what I've seen pretty old and don't touch much on Discord's issues

The amount of victims that have fallen to scams on Discord because they did not have this knowledge... is too many

For new traders/returning traders that are used to skype, the transition to discord could cause a lot of scams because they try and apply safe trading practices from skype to discord.
