    Mini ranks are just basically fun image next to you, but certain one has actual reason's such as overwatch verifier which mean person can verify you are legit overwatch booster but other have no reason behind them and just sort of cosmic thing, the link I provided goes through how to obtain them which should distinguish the difference between them all

    Pretty much a dick measuring contest among the very active users.

    A good metaphor to mini-ranks on here will be how wealthy individuals collect expensive watches to flaunt and compete with their friends, however the general public have no idea what these watches are.
