Still fairly new to OSRS, why do must Ironmen go for 99 fm first?

 

Good starting gp, no requirement, pretty fast,good defense cape for starting, lot of supply for training skill

 

I find it to be efficient to start, most guides will have you end at ~75 or after you get your 12 magic logs for DT, then keep the chests till you have higher stats for better loot. Starting wintertodt at 10 hp means you can only take a maximum of 1 damage, making it really easy to survive. I use wines from draynor to start off, i buy about 400 which is about 3 full cycles of world hopping till pen.
