So i'm going to be keeping an eye out, but this is my first time SERIOUSLY trying to black friday shop this year. I'm looking to pickup a gaming laptop with a budget of $2k (would rather spend around 1500~ but...

I'm pretty sure i'm going to get this laptop, but the deal is available now, not sure if they will have that one in stores, for that price, or any others around 1500~ so i'm not sure what to do bahah

No, Black Friday door busters are on Thursday. Thanksgiving day, as they have been.

 

In my opinion, buying a PC from best-buy, wal-mart, etc, is just a bad idea. I would personally look at online sales for gaming PC's which aren't a generic name brand sold at all the stores across the world. Also, I want my computer to be completely fresh. Alot of Best-Buy pre-builts come with anti-virus and other programs in it, + all the software installed etc.

My last PC I bought from Best-Buy had integrated graphics which I can't update the driver for because the information for the graphics isn't supplied with the computer & online there is no specific model to my integrated graphics but the site asks for a specific model and I haven't been able to update it. Bottom line, Best-Buy sold me a computer which had software on it that was 8 Months old. For a 'brand new' computer, that's horrible.


If you know what you're doing, use the sale money to buy PC parts
If you don't know what you're doing, use the sale savings money to buy a whole PC, from an under-the-table computer specialist store like NCIX or something, not the big market like Best-Buy.

This is oddly unspecific. What screen size/type? Body size? Hardware? Also, I feel like you shouldn't fall into the allure of Black Friday. Especially with 2080 mobile coming out in maybe Q1 or Q2.

But, HP is currently offering a huge discount on a gaming computers. I used this coupon to get a top-of-the-line desktop for hundreds cheaper than the parts. HP is also a fairly reliable company with good customer service.

Guarantee you that you can get a 15" with the same specs as the MSI GS65 for about 1600-1700 USD. Similar body size.

Otherwise, Alienware might release a coupon for their new line of laptops in the coming days. I would also keep a look out for these things on TechBargains – Your Source For Online Coupons, Promo Codes & The Hottest Deals.

 

This is just wrong. I would highly suggest against buying ANY laptop to do serious heavy-load gaming. BUT if you MUST have a laptop, the best place to get it are these giant chain stores with well known premium brands. A laptop is very cohesive and things can go very wrong - many stores know this and have 15-30 day warranties (let’s say it’s an overheating AMD core and you simply don’t like it). These stores don’t treat it as an RMA and usually just refund you store credit etc.

An actual home gaming PC is very different consumer process.

 

Buy a custom build PC! You'll get something beast!! Just not portable.
