What player amount do you think OSRS will peak at?

What player amount do you guys think OSRS will peak at? Current peak is 90k, hoping to see it peak past 100k once mobile is out.

Probably unrealistic but it would be so awesome to see this game with hundreds of thousands on at once like it was when I first started playing back in like 2006.

 

Yeh I don't think it will surpass 100k till mobile is fully out which I heard the deadline is November or December? Don't remember exactly where I saw it.

 

Maybe a touch over 100k but i see the playerbase shrinking over the next couple years. The pking scene definitely already has :/

 

I’m fairly confident it’s going to fly past 100K player base.
With mobile, ALL the expansions of questions and area’s + a new skill, it should definitely go past 100K easy.

 

It's not even the same community, everyone is so interested in efficiency rather than actual communication. I see this becoming a problem for new players and I think it'll cause OSRS to max out at around a hundred thousand. They'll come for the game and leave due to the community.

Over 100k easily for the first weeks, it will become pokemon go like phaenenom but on a smaller scale tho.

 

See the thing is, in 2001-2006 this game was very popular. Another thing that wasn't as popular is the E-sports and gaming industry in general. With the E-sports gaming industry, the Youtube industry, Twitch industry, and the whole online gaming community growing the way it has - we have been left with a game which will be on a gradual slow decline.

It's not like back in the day where 1Billion gold was enough for all of the best Barrow's armour, Dragon, etc. In this day and age, players have learned much about professional and efficient gaming that there is virtually nobody playing RuneScape without the use of Youtube, guides, blackmarkets, etc.

The gaming world has changed alot, this game is not going to last forever, and the new players who do join will learn how to max accounts very fast, and with the amount of players who have billions and billions of gold, ambition to continue to play and be one of the best will not be there with anyone because of how efficient people have become and how easily it can be impossible to catch up to someone.

I don't know if this makes sense but it's how I feel.

 

I think it'll max at about 100k to 150k
