Just recently coming back to graphics and when I stopped doing them I think I was using Ps6. What's new with photoshop and are their any trials, ways to get it for free, or remotely similar programs ? I've only ever gotten familiar with photoshop and not much of anything else.

Been using Photoshop CS5 for years, which has a free trial period of 30 days I think.

Much appreciated, I'm at work but I'm assuming this is a version of photoshop?

Thank you, I'll check it out.

I'm aware but I'm not that big of a fan of gimp. I'm very used to using photoshop exclusively.

Photoshop CS2 is free to download (legally). Go on Adobe's website here: Download Adobe Acrobat 7 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 products, click "I Accept", and the download links will appear. Adobe says that it does not run on many modern operating systems, but you could try it. I used it when I was learning GFX a few years ago, and it has a lot of the same features as the CS6 version.

Gimp is a free alternative, but I would not recommend using it. It's pretty limited in what it can do, and it's better to get used to a more professional software if you think you will be using it for a while.

All Adobe softwares offer free trials. There are ways to make these trials last forever, but we are not allowed to discuss about it here. A quick google search will give you what you need if it interests you.*

*PS: I am not responsible if anything happens and am not saying you should do it.

    Cheers
