[DENIED] Why not use a scammer's donated balance to reimburse the victim if a scam was proven?

If someone donated an amount of money in the past, and then for some reason scams another person, why can't the money they donated be used to reimburse the victim of the scam if proven?

This would have an automatic 100% guarantee of trust for any amount lower than the donator's donated balance to do easy and safe trades with that person.

If a person donates $200, they can easily do trades without middlemen and without other measures of safety for that amount of money or less worth of deals. In the off chance the person wants to do more, they can still use a middleman or any other means of doing it safely.

If someone with $100 donator does do a deal for $50 and scams somebody else, they could use the $50 from his donator for the victim, if proven, easily.

One of the only reasons I can think of that would get this suggestion denied is that it would just lose Sythe money. I personally think Sythe would still make MORE money with this new reimbursement system added, as more and more people would donate money to have a 100% guaranteed trust factor attached to deals they do, and a high donate amount would be encouraged as they want to do bigger deals.

I would personally donate ~100$ and let everyone go first in deals without a chance for either of us being scammed or having to use a middleman.

Overall, there would be much less scams, Sythe would probably make more money, and everyone doing deals with someone for less than their donated amount can feel safe going first or doing deals with that person.

Thank you for your time! I'd really love this to be added to Sythe.

Edit: What about something like a special coffer specially for that? People could put in a certain dollar value they want to prove they aren't going to scam, and if they do, it gets banned and money taken from the coffer to the victim.

It's not Sythe's responsibility to pay back victims of being scammed, and tbh this could be abused to get money back.

It’s not their responsibility, but it is extremely helpful and could also act as an encouragement for more people to donate large amounts. I get if they wouldn’t want to do it, but suggesting never hurts.

Thanks! didnt know this was a thing, but I think it victims should be paid back fairly if it was proven, instead of gambling their post on a dice roll to determine if they should be paid back or not.

We are not allowed to accept deposits on behalf on sythe.org.

and donations are donations. They are not used to payback scams, they are to support the website.

I think instead of using donations, there should be a separate place where you can pay for trust seals, but I don't think anyone wants to take the effort to police all that.

Donations aren’t put into some coffer. We don’t have hold of the money that is donated once it has been, meaning there is no tangible balance. What you see is the amount donated, not held or retained for further use.

I'm sure everyone else has summed this up quite well, but just as a peace keep. Sythe(richard) uses the donations to help fund the site, he does have expenses after all that need to be accounted for, and donations help do so. That being said i'm surprised this hasn't been closed yet

This sums up why this won't happen:
As @Tyler said deposits aren't allowed to be held, and donations are used to help the owner improve/maintain the site.

If anyone was scammed and would like to have a chance at being repaid, then they can refer to the thread mentioned below:
