Why is Sythe dead?

Returning After a Ban/Ban Evading: If one of your accounts has been banned for whatever reason and you return under another account, that account will also be banned. Frequent ban evasion will result in an IP ban.

It's more like Sythe is a zombie, you can bash it as much as you want but it will never fall.

 

The osrs community is growing pretty madly. I just found out about sythe through a friend, but i think advertisments would help. There are also quite a few other websites which spreads us thinly

 

I'd like to say just because he said he knew the activity in 2014, and joined in August does not mean someone is ban evading. I myself am not ban evading, I had an account on here 10 or so years ago and don't even have the Email or account name. I came to this website to take part in the community with RS stuff, but as the OP did originally say, sythe is dead.

Maybe not dead yet, but hugely deadening.

1000 active base is still active. Not as dead as other sites comparatively.

 

I like to read such messages of those users who claim when a website is dead yet they're the cause of it. If this website was indeed dead people wouldn't even bother ban evading, neither would they return to this website after 10 years or so.

 

On the contrary, you posting here makes the site "not dead" in a way.

Also, the reason I made an account after 10 years was to return to what used to be a thriving market and community forums, it's just not the same.

I feel like sythe was really active in 2015, aka when i joined. I still think its a prominent figure in underground markets on not only runescape but other games.

 

I think the main difference is gold websites. Around 2014 people who were only interested in buying gold would still look at threads outside the market every now and then when it catches their eye. Now that there are established websites that provide the services they once looked for on Sythe, they don't have much of a reason to be on Sythe anymore. Sythe isn't dead but it isn't the same as it was many years ago.

This is just a guess and I'm sure there's other factors that led to this decline, such as runescape's playerbase which has dropped since as well. However Sythe isn't dead, there's still plenty of users that browse the forum.

 

In my opinion Sythes not dead,
There are many factors to why it may not seem as active

1) Back in 2014 there wasn't a Sythe discord so everyone would be communicating with each other through forums.

2) I personally think people use Sythe for businesses and do all the funny posts and communicating through discord (even though spam forum is lit)

3) School just started for alot of people so they've been busy with that.

I haven't seen much of a difference with the active user count from 2014 and now.
