[DENIED] Disallow people selling "custom to order" accounts in the accounts for sale section

Currently, the accounts for sale section is swamped with people advertising that they will make accounts to order, which means they aren't actually "selling" accounts. To me what they are selling is an account training service and thus should be posting in the service section.

It's a real pain finding out who is actually selling an account or who if its someone who will make the account should a buyer want it and IMO makes the browsing experience really annoying.

Interested in anyone's 2c.

i don't actively use the account section to buy or sell, so this doesn't really affect me; however, I could see how this could be annoying. It also seems like the account services section would be a more appropriate section for these posts as you mentioned, so support from me.

 

This isn't allowed as far as I know, report the threads if they're not selling accounts and they will be dealt with.

Even if it is against the rules they are pretty blatantly not being inforced as any Mod could just look at any of the OSRS acc sections (mostly the lower level ones) and see half the page are threads like those.

True, under account sales the person is required to be selling a minimum of 1 account, that being said, i'm sure you can advertise 1 shit account and then do this "custom acc" advertising, although it does sound ridiculous. But yes, reporting the threads is an easy fix, mods don't frequently check threads after they have been approved or whatso as they hope normal users can help with it in that regard.

 

I wasn't aware of if it was against the rules and gathered it must be as they weren't being touched. I'm happy to go through and report the threads but I'd want a mod to confirm (just so I'm not spamming up the report queue when it's not need).

 

Moved the thread you reported to this section: Oldschool 07 RuneScape Skill Training. Advertising building custom accounts and having them readily stocked to sell is one thing and would be reasonable to advertise in that section as far as I'm concerned as you'd legitimately have accounts for sale too (which is what the section is for), but advertising a service like that itself with no accounts for sale is strictly a service, therefore it belongs in the skill training section, not the account selling section as it would be misleading/deceiving for other users. That's just my 2 cents on this though.

 

Completely agree if the "shop" has "stock". That to me is a legitimate account sale post. No "stock" or made to order is a service. That's how I see it

If the user is not selling an account but rather offering leveling services, report the post and it will be moved to the correct section. Closing this.
