    Sythe rules state you're responsible for your own account when it's hacked and used to scam. Well what about Sythe.org? Arnt they responsible when VB3 was comprimised and showed your email/password? In 2014 several high profile trusted users accounts were hacked and used to scam. No one could figure it out for months. I was privy to some knowledge and it became known to me that they were using a vb3 exploit to commit these hackings/scams. I immediately posted about it to little avail. Months later sythe messaged me curious about some things I had said. When I linked what I had he immediately realized the severity. I even relinked some stuff after he assumed the website was safe again only to realize it wasnt. This is what pushed the website to stop using VB3 and upgrade. As a reward for helping save the site thousands upon thousands in stolen $, I was given the chance to create my own fun rank (As seen above). Now my question is why are the users who's accounts were hacked and used to scam forced to repay if it's the owners fault? Shouldnt sythe it self be responsible given their rules? I'm aware of to this day several users who are still banned because of this and cant afford to refund. Isnt it time sythe followed it's own rules?

    Well they claim you should have 2fa enabled and I agree. However several users were gone before 2fa was made available.

    2FA had been available for several years prior with reminder messages periodically sent to people without 2FA to secure their accounts.

    It would be difficult for them to prove they were hacked and didn’t just self hack or scam. Would be a case by case basis.

    Why hasnt this been brought up
    Some of the hacks happened to users who had left the site before 2fa was made available. Many returned to accounts banned and staggering debts. Forcing them to never return to sythe and walk away. After the website was updated why didnt we post a sticky for these users? Handle it case by case? It's not like we dont have enough mods and admins to handle these...

    It’s always been a case by case basis. A lot of old accounts also had their emails hacked or recovered over the years.

    If memory serves you would need to have been completely inactive for 3 years prior to the hack to not have logged in and enabled 2FA. You also would have needed to ignore emails prompting you to enable 2FA.
