[DENIED] Require Moderators to tag users when locking threads

This is an annoyance that has been occurring and I've noticed it with others as well.

I don't know if this is unofficially a rule or not for staff but it has not been being enforced well at all if it is.

I am suggesting we require moderators to tag the OP of a thread if it is locked, I just discovered a *very* important thread was locked over 2 weeks ago without me being so much as notified, to say that cost me well over $1000 would be a understatement and as soon as I was aware of it I resolved the reason it was locked in ~5 minutes. I couldn't resolve it because I didn't know it was locked.

We all know the pain of having a thread locked and not being notified.

It takes literally a fraction of a second for a moderator to include a users tag in their lock message, its ridiculous not to require that.

I have both email & alerts turned on and didn't get notified because the moderator who locked it didn't bother doing the 1/2 a second to type @Divine

It might be a courtesy as of now, I'm suggesting to make it a requirement, when your dealing with threads on the scale I am you cant effectively track every single one and make sure their unlocked, the same goes for all gold sites and people with over I'd say, 10 threads.

Thread locks are there for the purpose of forcing that user to obtain a requirement or obey one or fix something, not tagging that user so that they can actually do that defeats the entire purpose of locking threads. You cant bloody fix something if you don't know its a damn problem.

They're supposed to PM people when they lock a thread at least that's how it was when I was a moderator

 

Yeah, that doesn't happen.

I even went with the easier one for mods which is tagging someone, I don't even care if I get a PM but like how are you suppose to know a threads been locked if they don't inform you somehow lol.

I feel at this stage it should just become mandatory(at the very least mandatory tagging of the OP). If not a PM as a courtesy because it seems to be one of those things now where its hit-or miss depending on the staff that locked it you've got a 50/50 chance of finding out if it was locked.

 

Lmao, Few months back. I got warned and wasn't alerted on sythe but luckily king did me a favor and warned me on discord. Is this even fixed yet?

 

Generally it isn't a problem where they don't pm or tag you, as it is usually the OP's fault that it gets locked, but in cases like this I would say that talking to @Champ would be the fastest route Divine. I do agree that it is annoying that they don't and it probably should happen though, so support.

I will talk to the team, and make sure a better job is done from myself and others included if tagging was not properly done.
