Retired from staking

In mid June 2018 I retired from odds-staking, it was a fun run while it lasted and thought I would share my little story .

I started on RS3 with about $1000 worth of gold. It was very difficult for me in the beginning, I had no friends/connections and for some reason the majority of stakers were very toxic towards me. Within my first week of staking, the other stakers loaded up 20+ accounts to spam that my account is a "glitcher/scammer" so that people wouldn't stake me because I was their competition. I had no choice but to do the same back to them to make them stop, but of course that only made them have a more toxic attitude towards me. It was a pretty nasty and competitive business.

I remember staking 5+ hours every day for my first month on RS3 and I actually ended up getting cleaned for all my gold + profits, it was very demotivating but I decided to try it again next month, but do longer hours with more accounts. In this second month I had a MUCH better time! I made a new friend who eventually became my staking partner (and is still my good friend to this day!) + I ended up hiring people to stake on some accounts for me to make my life a bit easier. I was just paying them commission of the profits and it worked out great.

Eventually I discovered that odds staking on 07 is better money and started mainly running my accounts on there, keeping the RS3 shenanigans on the side. Staking on OSRS was a much smoother experience because I was making more money and made so many more friends with other odd-stakers, gamblers and goldsellers.

in my worst month I lost $20,000
in my best month I made $70,000 (This was mainly off 1 person which amazed me)
I have been banned on well over 100 accounts, but the money I have cashed out and all the new friends I made have made my staking experience worth it.

But all good things must come to an end. Dealing with bans is getting harder and harder, the price of RSGP is constantly dropping but most importantly it feels like there are just less and less people coming to the duel arena to gamble, so there's less people to make money off.

So even though it's still profitable to stake "right now", I have decided to quit because I have lost hope in the future of the staking. I am now day-trading cryptos full-time from home and to my surprise there's so much in trading which is similar to staking so I'm having a great time!

Can I ask why people stake their "friends"?

Wouldn't 1 of you be salty if the other one goes up by a lot?
