[DENIED] Rule Suggestion Regarding Doxing

Currently it is bannable to release the Dox of someone that is not currently banned.
I 100% support that fully.

What I do not understand is why it is allowed publicly after someone is banned, it should NEVER be allowed to publicly release the Dox of someone regardless if they are banned or not.

What I suggest is:
Making it where all doxing that is posted publicly is bannable as it is black-hat and should not be done.
Yes it is wrong if someone scams but doxing is also wrong and shouldn't be tolerated unless it's being released directly to the person that was scammed.


ALSO anyone that makes Dox threats OUTSIDE of the spam forum should instantly receive 3 months ban.
It shouldn't be tolerated at all making any blackhat related threats VIA discord PM and etc.

 

I agree. I saw something somewhat like this(threatening to dox someone, I forget the parties involved) recently and was appalled that doxing was being used as a scare tactic. It’s like threatening to murder someone over them stealing bread. Doxing is VERY serious and should be treated that way.

 

No support, I've been disputed on paypal before for close to $500 by one guy (Attempted scamming) and the only way I could get the guy to stop the disputes was by doxing him and contacting all his family members/friends.

There's no reason why scammers should be protected from getting doxed especially when It might be the only reason for them (the victims) to get their money back.

 

I understand, I’ve been scammed for ~1k as well all via Sythe, but I cut my losses rather than try to ruin the person’s life. I realize not everyone thinks the way I do, but I believe it’s not the moral way to go about it even though you’ve been wronged.

Then I think it should have to be approved by staff before the action is done. Why you wish to Dox them should be simply stated to them and you should have to agree to not share the information outside of the staff team; in my opinion.

Regardless however the threat of Doxing should never be allowed as it is black-hat and as Texas has stated, two wrongs does not make a right.

 

The key word I’ve noticed is publicly. You shouldn’t be able to post those details publicly. Contacting his family privately seems legit

 

Yes not everyone thinks like you, most people would attempt to get their money back if there is a way, I don't consider doxing someone who has attempted to scam me for ~$500 unethical. If you're going to scam someone and your info is public then expect some consequences from any logical victims.

I disagree, I don't think staff should have to approve it. Also look up the definition of black hat, doxing someone in order to get your money back would not be black hat and whether it's wrong is subjective.

The reason it would be posted publicly would be to inform any future employers or anyone doing a background check that this person is a scammer/fraud.

 

So do you think you was in the right threatening the person earlier? If so why do you think that was appropriate and should be allowed in that circumstance.

 

Yes but that's irrelevant, he attempted to scam not only me but another person, also you've seen maybe 1/5 of the chat logs and he's TWC now. If I was still a moderator he would of been banned.

 

I was merely trying to understand why you think your threat action earlier was okay? No one was scammed at that point and you had no right to make the threat.
Which is why I think those type of threats should be bannable.

 

Once again refer to my above post, you shouldn't speak on situations you know nothing about, you've seen maybe 1/5 of the total chat logs.
