[APPROVED/REVIEW] Rule Reform - Tweeters

Making this because of this report Amiros is a tweeter.

Tweeting people should not be a 1 month ban it should be a 3 month ban + permanent DNT, people like Amiros cause people to lose thousands upon thousands of dollars how is he getting away with just a 1 month ban and a twc?

Edit - Also they should be responsible for the account value if a ban occurs.

 

Should be held liable for the accounts, yes nobody can prove the ban was a direct consequence of the tweet. However this’ll hold people accountable for their actions and not just given a slap on the wrist for causing monetary loss. Support.

 

Support current punishment is joke they are basically throwing someones wealth into trashcan

A half-arsed user would be unphased by a 1 month ban.

Although the victim of tweeting would have lost a lot to RWT bans, and it is difficult for them to prove how much RSGP they lost, the tweeter should be responsible for refunding the account value. Even though the victim engages in RWT, the tweeter is the one who gets the account banned much earlier than it may have done otherwise.

What's to stop him from doing it again lol just a month. In my opinion should be permanent till the person refunds the account costs at least

Agreed as well. The intention of these people is to cost the other person hundreds, mostly thousands of dollars in loss of gp/account value.

The fact that people should get off with a 1 Month Ban for something like that honestly confuses me.

It's hard to say if they are responsible for the bans of the account but I'd say if theres a 1 day time lapse between when the account was tweeted and when the account was banned it's pretty fair to say the account as well as the wealth was banned because of the tweet.

Support this, people who are tweeting should be held accountable and should have a much higher punishment. The end result may not always be a ban or can be proven but they are still attempting to get their account banned and to lose any wealth on the account. It is always going to be a problem but with a slap on the wrist it is only going to be a bigger issue, definitely needs to be a more strict punishment.

We're all users of this "black market" forum, and using it to obtain the "evidence" needed to convict someone on Jagex' behalf should be causal of a harsh punishment. Tweeters have nothing to gain by tweeting accounts, and they're essentially screwing over gold farmers, and people who use Sythe to make a living. They're "almost" the worst kind of people.

 

No support. They should be held responseable for loss. But if someone leaks a rs name intended as a troll, doesn’t actually tweet it and no harm is done to the acc this user should not receive a harsh punishment. I think these things should be handled manually. I like the idea of holding the tweeter responseable tho, this would be hard given theres no way to prove the actual wealth on the acc..
But if acc is banned the minimum they should pay back is the actual value of the account.

 

If there is proof someone tweeted which gets them banned / TWC’d, I would think a more severe punishment is in order if the account actually gets banned. But then there also comes into question, how do we know the tweet was why? Sometimes it may be bad timing, but that person also chose to report them with intent of getting them banned so it’s kinda the same thing regardless of how it happened, and there would be no way to tell for sure really anyway.

Could also come into play if someone knows they got tweeted, they could try setting up wealth on an account for proof and removing it before actually getting banned and trying to have this person held liable. I could support having them be liable for value of account itself maybe? Proving wealth is always a difficult task when dealing with banned accounts.

I have always seen tweeting accounts as a form of scamming because you’re trying to get someone banned.

I’d have to see more opinions from staff on exactly why we went with the current rule - I’ll have to find the thread and whatnot. I’m sure I’m missing something here or else we wouldn’t have went with this to begin with I don’t think.

 

I’m all for extending the ban and length of mandatory DNT. I don’t know if I necessarily agree with the compensation aspect of it. Unless it’s fairly obvious, plenty of images can be faked, staged, or inaccurate and can prove to be difficult to place a dollar amount on said losses.

 

tweets made me lose over 35k eur in 2016 and made me stop staking i lost over 100 staking accs in 3 months and 6 people lost their jobs staking for me. Just because of lame idiots tweeting, drawing attention to the arena, getting banned themselves and then their competition, lose lose situation but they didnt bother meditating

 

This is so sad crazypipe and others lose millions of dollars in total and the tweeters get a slap on the wrist

I'm going to move this to pending / review, we will look into a rule reform on tweeting, and how we adjust it for a reasonable solution for the parties involved in such actions.
