[APPROVED/REVIEW] scam thread creation "before you post" popup

I check scam threads quite often and 50% of them I see a thread where the OP clearly has not read the sitcky, every time I see a mod post "how to make a scam thread" after that a lot of people just stop posting not bothering to follow the sticky.

I think as soon as you click "create a new thread" the page should link to the guide saying something like "you must comply with everything on this thread in order for your report to be taken seriously". Also I do not think this would be enough some people would ignore it, there should also be the same pop-up once you have clicked the post button "are you 100% sure your post has everything required covered please check how you should structure your post and make sure your thread ticks every box".

So much time is wasted by mods posting the guide and a lot of people give up at that point I think this would speed up how quickly a scammer gets banned and waste less mods time.

 

I Support this, many people even myself overlook important things in the sticky

 

If this is a feature that can be added, it'd be up to @Matthew and @Sythe

 

Just make them agree that they read it with like a 30 second countdown(nobody could read the entire stickys faster than that anyway)

 

I like the sound of this as there's always a tonne of trash reports. I've just had an idea to improve this though, as well as reducing the amount of stickies (as, quite frankly, there's a stupid amount of stickies in RAS).

When someone goes to make a report, they are taken to a template form where there's several boxes (each of these titled with certain things that need to be included in a valid report). There would also be a button to attach images etc. and you would not be able to post the thread without filling in each of the mandatory fields.

 

A template is a great idea too, I would like to see either that or my idea implemented if possible.

 

I support this. This will also allow Sythe Staff members to be able to do their jobs more efficiently by not having to waste time informing a said user of utilizing the template to report. I know as members of the Sythe community it is our job to read stickies and such, but realistically not everyone does, and with this (possibly) put in place, members will have no excuse.

 

Support, same with other threads such as account sales where you do get a lot of awful posts. A popup on the first time making a thread (no timer), and a template each time you make a thread would be great (able to delete template if not wanted).

It would be extraordinarily helpful if it can be done. Dealing with reports that are a mess is just horrendous

 

I have no reasons to be against it so if Rich or Matthew thinks it's easy to implement, then why not.

 

This could either work by allowing users to only post threads with the help of a template, such as: [XFA] Thread Template (would be prettier with seperate boxes though)
It could also work if an admin was able to code it himself in Xenforo: Creating a Template Based Add-On

I couldn't really find any popup addons but that doesn't sound very hard to make if you have coding knowledge, which I don't.

Think entering the RAS/RABE sections should trigger this instead of upon making a thread.. but still support the idea fully makes the "make sure to follow" x link less occurring thing..

 

+1 many people are too lazy to make an actual report because they know they won't get their money back. Add this and put in that it is possible to get your money back via community repayment if your report is successful.

 

Seems like a good idea yeah, also i think a moderate by time created would be a good addition.

I've noticed a fair portion of threads get skipped over for 24 hour+ while some are solved within an hour or two which seems silly to me. While one gets ignored for so long, the accused could line up a load of scams to scam quit.

Obviously some high priority ones would maybe over write the rule at times but even a "we are looking into this" post would be enough, instead of being flat out ignored.

While I support this, I am also in full support of staff members dnt'ing users even if the correct format isn't used. I believe that I've seen a few times where Staff would require the correct format BEFORE even reading the thread. Considering that puts others at risk, it should be handled a bit more serious.

@Shin I think a RAS template automatically that appearing once you click 'Create a new thread' is definitely a useful tool, as every user does not read the stickies we have in place. Of course if this is something that would take to many resources, then it can be denied.
