Well and as a counter to that I can bring quite a couple of arguments why they should. One of the biggest reasons being is that Sythe is/was the biggest blackmarket to exist (?) along with us offering a free market.

 

Don’t support for the reason listed, but do support for site income

 

Usually the scammers get banned then make a new account and keep advertising the same site. So requiring them to donate for each new account would definitely make this scam less appealing to them.

Would just suck to punish all the innocent members with editing restrictions site-wide. Maybe this editing restriction can apply only to market threads?

 

Idk, i feel as if it should be more of a postcount req not donor req cuz theres quite a few people who run legit trhreads with no donor

 

Instead of donor maybe require 100 posts?

The thing is the imposters edit the thread after a moderator approves it, they don't even mention a site when they first make a thread so this wouldn't work.

No support. It's just encouraging people to use another site else-were. It's just like every other section and trying to make it more difficult to work with the forums. Not everybody wants to donate. I'f you have made N/A from the site and messed up the post you'd have to donate to change it without the site actually making you anything. You'd instantly be loosing out. People only donate when they've made from the site and feel there is enough to deposit to become a donor. Maybe you should moderate it more closer rather than put restrictions on and make the users out to make sales walk away.

May be a little unfair to make it an absolute, meaning there should be a limit in how many characters you can change in your original thread - without moderator approval. I support the suggestion in requiring the donation status to be able to automatically edit your posts, an unlimited amount of times. HOWEVER, the user two posts above me does have a good point that it may push people people away from here...

 

They create a regular post claiming to buy/sell X amount of gold and eventually they edit their post to advertise an imposter site.

 

How about that they can't use links to websites?

In your signature or in a thread? I feel as if not allowing users to add links into their signature will be more beneficial than threads. Some people use links in their posts for informational purposes.

Not only would it take up a large amount of staff's time editing newcomers thread on a daily basis. It does not follow the "Free market" system we have in place.
