Or does it show that mods do abuse the rule, and he was the only one caught SO FAR? How do we know the others arent doin the same but there just isnt enough evidence yet?

 

Whether it was abuse or unknowingly breaking the rules we don’t know, but that doesn’t mean we should presume it to be either. I can’t comment on the unknown but conspiracies are just that conspiracies.

 

When I read the title of the thread I thought: A Broken Man wrote this. Then I checked the thread and it was indeed ABM, vouch.

I support the suggestion. I dont know why people are discussing the rule itself: it already exists and is active. The discussion should be if people like @Chloe who openly admits to breaking an active rule should get away with it just because of her rank.

 

This is written so if a worker for a website also sells their own product, they are allowed to have a thread (hint the staff approval). This rule isn't so some shop's workers get to have a thread.

This rule:

Workers are not allowed to make their own threads; If you work for a Goldshop (whether they have a website or not), you are NOT allowed to make your own thread in the RS3 Buying/Selling, OSRS Buying/Selling, or swapping sections

 

UNLESS you have been authorized by staff to do so. PM a moderator to discuss your situation as we treat these circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Breaking this rule will result in a thread lock, and possibly additional consequences for both the worker and employer, as deemed appropriate by staff.

 

And that is where this thread is about. To question if someone like you can abuse your rank to void the rule.

"staff approval" solely means that the user selling x is selling their own x and not the shop they work for. If they aren't, it is against the rules, and will not be approved; if it has been approved mistakenly, report it, and it will be closed and/or a punishment will be dulled out.

If staff are breaking this rule, then report them. Overly strict rules just make it a pain to manage (there is almost always an exception) and instead of advocating a rule change to not allow people to sell their own service, report someone for breaking the rule.
