[APPROVED/REVIEW] A disclaimer message pops up after every post you click in account sections

Hi guys. What I want to suggest - to help keep newcomers aware of how easily it is to scam OSRS accounts - is a disclaimer message that pops up on every account-selling thread.

For example - upon clicking on any account selling thread on the marketplace - this message will pop-up (using one of my threads as an example)

Why this would help:
- It makes newcomers that MAY not read sticky threads be more aware of possible consequences of purchasing an account from somebody.
- It makes everyone more aware and reminds people constantly to buy and sell accounts with caution.

Perfect example as to why this should be implemented at the minimum:

An obvious evader sold the user in this comments an account only for it to be recovered. The exact user which I caught came back (a year I guess) and a few weeks later constantly evading.

 

Support. Great idea and I'm all for suggested image 2.

 

I think something similar was suggested for creating threads in the Report a Scammer section, which got accepted as well. Nothing was done with it though (as far as I can see). Still I'll support this suggestion too, if you are able to disable the pop-up message forever after seeing it for the first time.

 

As much as i'd like to support it's already been suggested and didn't go through. If you decide to scroll pass the sticky's it is you're own fault. Sometimes it is not just the new comers who scam so advertising it would be hypocritical overall as no account is ever safe bought and we all know this anyway before even signing upto this site. Overall i vote no to this as some new comers are out for a quick buck some are out for a long term business. You are knocking other peoples time and hard work for the ones who are out there for longterm

 

I'd be fine with this happening for users 50< posts since they are clearly new users and even then, it should not be a popup, but maybe a little announcement that is visible in the section.

 

It should be overall for everybody if it was to be added 1 Vouch or 1000 vouches

How are you knocking down somebody who is trying to create a long-term business by warning newcomers even though they are completely reputable - over the long-term - and have proved their legitimacy in the community?

 

Reason i said no was due to the ones out for long-term i ain't knocking them i'm defending them.

 

So what's wrong with warning newcomers that account recovery is always possible? How does it put newcomers selling accounts at a disadvantage? They haven't proved themselves yet in the community hence people should be warned of them.

That's the benefit of proving yourself in the blackmarket. The more active and reputable you are, the more transactions you should be able to make. They wouldn't even be put on a higher pedestal, the discretion is up to the buyer - newcomer or not - regardless, the warning is there for them for precautionary reasons.

 

Agreed. All for the post count being a factor.

 

if it is easy to implement I dont see a downside. as broken said long as it can be disabled if you want it to be or if it is just a 1 time thing.

On top there's an announcement: OSRS Main Accounts: Level 80+
I'd say edit this announcement, possibly with some color added to it so it's more visible.
Maybe some different text aswell.

Not sure if I'd like popups etc. Those can be disabled on your browser anyways.

 

Twisted feelings, at one point your idea is great and could be really helpful, but at the other hand, it could be irritating to see a pop-up, but I approve. This concept overal is a good idea.

 

I give support to this, but I mean it could just not be a popup, it could just be apart of the website, but only in account selling/buying threads @Wortel

Support. I’d say like half the people that contact me about account stuff don’t really know the risks of buying accounts. Truly a shame
