Now that community groups have name colours, is it really necessary to make my rank unhideable?

I really want to hide my Tech Core rank but user centre won't let me because it's a usergroup rank. Now that community teams have name colours and can be identified as such, is it still really necessary to not let me hide my community team rank?

 

What is the logic behind them being unable to be hidden in the first place?

Probably should know that before anyone supports.

 

Probably best to making a ruling on this after the poll/thread wonderland made on removing coloured ui's from community teams is decided upon.

 

Not everyone knows which colours correlate to which community group

It would be harder for newcomers to tell the difference between staff and team members if this were to happen.

 

Why would a development team member hide a fun rank he specifically joined for?

But in all honesty though, I would assume common sense reasons. It wouldn't make sense to hide the main thing that distinguishes a development team member from a regular member.

OT: Yes, we now have colored names but I don't think it's well established enough to have the possiblity to hide the fun rank. And let's say that colored names for development teams would stay implemented, I think we would need to wait atleast a whole year in order for the community to associate x color with x fun rank.

Also, according to rich's response on the poll thread - he stated to give the vote 1 month, which is next week. Better off to wait until then.

However, I personally see no issue or correlation between hiding said rank and the outcome of said poll.

 

Staff and OMM ranks can't be hidden, so no. I'm not sure why you posted this thread in the first place except to meme.
