Sythe is awesome! I won't even bother reading prior posts to this!

 

To be honest, Sythe isn't worth anywhere near as much, because no-one would buy it unless they are a runescape obsess with no life.

Sythe is a non-profit or minimal-profit internet forum, so in effect, is worth nothing more than the cost of the server it is being hosted on.

Actually, there is no true way to calculate how much a site is worth, other than the actual revenue for a set amount of time.

The major factor is alexa rank, page rank, and page views. Anything above 100,000 in the alexa rank is automatically win, and a high page rank to go with it is just great. And then look at this. How many uniques does sythe get per day? If a person was to buy this site, they could completely get rid of the forums, and place a single page with ads. Although this might seem stupid, but it would generate a lot of money. Did you see the text link ads? Companies who sell gold/accounts could easily make some great targeted advertising right here, while the forums are still running, giving Sythe another bonus for his pocket. With the text links and google ads alone, Sythe is able to fund for the servers and more. Although the 700k$ Might seem a bit outlandish, it is meant as an estimate in which people base their offers off of. This tool is widely used in decision making to buy sites or not. So you can be sure it's trust worthy.

On another note, last I checked on dnscoop, Sythe was worth only 5,000$.

yeah i agree, just becuase of its subject (a game that is now dead) i dont think anyone would pay that amount for a rwt site, but i think he cou;d get like 50k off it
