What is OSRS like now?

I haven't played for a couple of years because I started hard core raiding in WoW. Work has taken up too much of my time so I can no longer raid anymore, which has caused me to lose interest in the game due to the grind demands.

So my question to you guys who have been playing, what is it like now? Is it getting more popular, dead? etc? I am in the works of making a new 07 account to play on and starting from scratch. Back then it was absolutely filled with bots.

 

I like the game, don’t see too many bots. Recently rekindled my flame with it and have been playing every day.

Even the little things are still active. For example did the shades of Morton quest today and went to the official world, there were 10-15 of us noobs there trying to figure it out.

 

You can barely bot anymore, instaban.
It's been steady for a while now with new content such as quests. Plus mobile is driopping soon which will recruite a few noobs.

 

Has a pretty solid player base. Like Allawy says once mobile drops its going to bring in a lot of new players and old players like myself. Definitely going to play again once mobile comes along. Bossing is still a ton of fun along with pet chasing.

 

It's only fun if you have people to play with tbh. Otherwise you'll get bored after 2-3 weeks of gameplay.

PKing is real competitive on OSRS, most of us have been scapin for years at this points so there is ridiculous skill level with some. You still have the occasional full-rune-and-dlong retard to make you feel 13 again.

I believe OSRS is in decline. It's a VERY niche game. There's way better MMO options out there for people looking. I don't see why anyone who's never played RS before would play OSRS. Don't get me wrong, been playing since 06', I love the game. However, If I just happened to stumble upon it now I wouldn't give it a second thought.

 

Recently started playing again (about 70 days ago or so)
Restarted from scratch, REALLY enjoying the game again.
It’s been a blast.
Bots aren’t super prevelant other than in F2P
I recommend coming back and giving it another go

 

Not many bots, recommend playing and there's many people still making vids and fun private servers going up

 

It has gotten far more popular in the past year and will probably continue to get more popular with the upcoming updates they have planned. As usual the game has quite a bit of bots, especially in f2p worlds.

 

I don't see mant bots anymore but there are a ton of alt accounts now.

Too many bots to train anything don’t bother.

 

No matter where you go, there is going to be bot around the game. I believe the game is slowly dying due to the game getting more easier over time. Not to mention if you want a good method of making money, kill the new bosses and forget skilling in general. The new bosses drop all your skilling needs. If you were to come back to it, I suggest making a iron man and having some content to do. Shows how well you know the game and how efficient you really are.
