DLL Injection Resources

I'm looking into delving into a bit of game hacking. Just to venture outside of my normal approaches to developing. This in turn will provide me with (somewhat) enough experience to counter the approaches in my own developments.

Does anyone have much experience with this? I'm first of all looking to develop an injector to fire on startup of an application. From there I will be moving into the actual ways of attaining memory allocations and reverse engineering certain methods.

I don't want any black-hat resources or files. Just purely credible information that can assist me learn.
