Mini-Rank Shop (Sythe Gold Only)

create miniranks that can be purchased with Sythe Gold only and unable to be traded.

This will help;

1) Further stabilize the value of Sythe Gold when the early bump cost is implemented

2) Create an additional use for Sythe Gold

3) By maintaining untradable minis with Sythe Gold it will not hinder the value of tradeable minis obtained from prize boxes

That’s all. Someone can make them if you like the idea.

 

great idea. i talked to @Sythe awhile ago about how sythe gold is useless to most users so this is a good way to make a purpose for it.

 

It seems to me an excellent idea; In fact when I started in the forum I thought that it could be done with the 'Sythe Gold' but then I saw that it had no use at the moment.

 

This idea was mentioned with the implementation of SG: Sythe Gold.

Specifically this:

However in regards to the suggestion I do like it. The only thing I'd prefer to keep those miniranks tradable (assuming they'd be new, unique miniranks, and not the same ones currently there) as it would not only increase demand for SG, but increase the market for miniranks (imo). I'd understand your POV for making it untradable too, though.

I think that would be the way this works, creating new miniranks for the SytheGold market and leaving those that already exist untradeables. Win-win

 

also maybe you guys can make a thread to get some new minirank ideas/suggestions for the shop. i know id love to see 1 or 2 anime related minis

This has been brought up time and again for a while now, but the issue with it is creating a plan for implementation.

• How should this shop be created?
• Who should have access to it?
• Where should it be located?
• What should be in it?
• How can people purchase the miniranks?
• What should the miniranks cost?
• Will there be exclusive or non-trade-able miniranks?
• Will this affect current miniranks? Should anything be done about them?
• What approach, if any, should be made to address prizeboxes?

Some of these questions are better than others, but what I'm trying to get at is it's easy to say, "create a minirank shop", but there's a plethora of considerations that need to be made in order for something to actually be made. It will take a lot of brainstorming, discussion, testing, programming, etc. I think it's incredibly complicated to make something like this which isn't excessive or essentially useless either, despite it being something which could be very nice to have for the community.

In the directory or trading pages of the minirank section of the User Center create locked miniranks that become unlocked when Sythe Gold is traded for it. Automate removal of the Sythe Gold from the user.

Fun miniranks created by a graphics member. We seem to have a consensus that the miniranks purchased with Sythe Gold are untradeable. Have a contest and offer a minirank to the artist who gets the most votes.

Several for 500 Sythe Gold, a few more for 1000 Sythe Gold, maybe some for 5,000 and 10,000

No, keep the current miniranks from prize boxes and holidays as is.

Do not allow the untradeable Sythe Gold miniranks to be available as a reward from a prizebox, using the same method that holiday ranks don't come out of them, for example.

 

@Xour Did you even read my post? Those were not literal questions to be answered or responded to. A plan must be created.

 

Do you have the network to plan new content that could be implemented? Although I'm not technically skilled I could help get the ball rolling.

I'm sure the graphics artists wouldn't be the main issue, they seem keen to make things all the time for contests.

So now we're at the coding. Don't we have a technical core team?

That's great and I'd love it if someone (or a group of people) could do that, but a full write-up is required from the bottom up. I have no problems working with those individuals either to see the minirank shop coming into existence. I can make it happen, but it's going to take a very long time if you expect me or anyone else to do it alone.

Graphic artists shouldn't be required, but a user interface will be needed.

I'm not sure what you're trying to get at with that question. Are you trying to say the Tech Core should be responsible for creating the schematics for the suggested system?

I like the sound of this idea, it'd bring a whole new level to buying / using sythe gold.

 

I like the idea and will support it, though I'm fairly sure it'll take alot of time to get this done. I'm sure this was @Matthew his idea all along to make this happen, though I'm afraid this is gonna take double the time it's been taken already to make things happen.

 

Why not instead just add the option to buy a prize box within the user centre with sythe gold? Then the minirank contained within it is random and one price can be set for all the minis.

If you don’t want it to affect the current minis in circulation. Have a different type of prize box like “SG Prizebox” and have different minis within that box. Either non tradeable or tradeable

I would imagine this would make a lot of @Shin implementation issues easier?
