Call of Duty WWII thread

Figured we don't have a thread about it yet, anyone going to buy it? Anyone played the beta? Thoughts?

 

Missed out on the xbx1 beta which is upsetting but I'm super hyped for this, first cod in awhile im excited to play.

 

Played it on ps4 and pc. I liked it, was pretty good. Been playing cod since WaW, I think this will be in the top five.

 

yeah so, I just typed the longest rant for this but I’m just going to save it and give you the short answer for me

I'm a Veteran Cod player. Played all cods from 2, beat all their campaigns, and put at least 50 hours in each game on multiplayer (yes even Cod 2 after the user base dropped to 4 people on weekends and really I had way more than 150+ on most CODs, since it was the only franchise I played other than Fallout.


This COD is possibly the biggest disappointment, despite activision basically having an unlimited budget to make it an amazing game. They had over a year after BF1 to release to get shit right, and despite not liking BF1 (personal decisions. awesome and nicely trimmed game, but not my style anymore and got over BF1 quickly), I can still sit here and say it falls shorter than BF1 or any other COD (other than ghost, but at least they were cleaver in Ghost and added leaning....)


-Bad graphics

-Bad map design

-Terrible gun recoils, animations, and design

-Too easy (its COD so I get it its meant to be that way)

-reskinned

-Probably going to be filled with micro transactions

-same static gameplay despite a few new multiplayer game mode, like blowing up a wall to get to an objective, only to have it magically rebuild itself??? that still lacks the complexity of game types in free to play games like Dirty Bomb lol.


To me, this game doesn't come NEAR WAW, and I’m surprised they didn’t release a "remastered" W@W with then game. I think they didn't because then people would see this game just like infinite, a game people bought just to get an old remaster.



I won’t be buying, but I will continue to keep up with the game and may revisit when more DLC comes out, but as of now, these reskinned BO3 games don't deserve my $60.

 

I absolutely love it tbh and as the user above I have played nearly all COD's with a total hours of like 4000 combined on COD2 and COD4.

 

I just wanna play zombies if anyone wants to play hmu when the full game releases

 

Yes! What console you got? I just bought my ps4 back and cant wait to get the new zombies! Hope they werent as shit as infinite war...

 

Will the zombies / gameplay resemble CoD 5 (World at War)? or what oldschool cod will this resemble? Haven't really looked into it much as I stopped playing CoD after BO2 as every one after was trash in my opinion.

 

Agreed.
Zombies is more complex after BO2, but it's still mainly focused around train running on very specific map sections, downing the last zombie, and completing objectives.

 

Well, it's supposed to be more or a horror that in the past this time. The dev said it's supposed to give you those moments of terror, and wanting to be close to team mates at times because of scary things that'll happen.

 

Anyone see the leaked information regarding ww2? Killstreaks leaked amongst the full list of weapons.

Kinda felt bad, because I'm a fan of the two studio heads.

Michael Condrey came out and addressed it, said some things were true, some false or subject to change prior to the release. If there's a dog streak though, I'm happy.

 

Wouldn't you rather a COD5 remake? I think this game is complete bullshit for the budget and studio who made it. Will the the first and only COD I won't buy

 

I do agree it's amazing. The thing with remakes is it gets boring quicker. I'd absolutely love a remake of world at war, it was my favourite ww2 game, but I know I would end up getting bored of it within a couple months, especially because I played world at war for 2 years because I actually wasn't a huge fan of MW2.

One of my best irl friends was huge in game battles for WAW. Once we we went to Florida he was 13th on game battles, and he went against the #1 player and beat him like 4-1 in Bolt action search and destroy. By far the most fun when it comes to competitive

 

Ps4 beta was lit, i'm pumped to no life this game and see how many of the jetpackers drop off out of the competitive scene and see what new people make names for themselves now that it's back to BOTG

 

Never thought I'd be this excited for a cod, but I'm literally counting the days.

Multiplayer will be amazing, and I can't wait to play a campaign for the first time since BO1.

 

Haven't Played the Beta, But every year I camp outside the store for it and usually end up disappointed, Bright back BLOPS

Il still be playing the shit out of this and I'm looking forward to the Zombies mode the most.

 

I'm beyond thrilled for this game.

Back in black ops 2/ghost I was planning on competing and ghost ended up being shit and I got out of the game, now with ww2 coming, i'm going full force back into it.

I plan on traveling to all the LAN's they offer this year, and play in every single tournament that the CWL has to offer.

Really excited to have a basic COD back again, fuck those jetpack games.

 

I just played a few games of Black Ops 2 lately and must say I was surprised by how good looking the game is imo, or it's just me being able to play games on high settings now. Also started playing a few Ghosts games a couple days ago with friends and can't really say we were enjoying our games lol. It's really embarassing how people play that game, it's like their left hand is broken all the time.

 

Yeah ghost is the game that killed cod for me, the game just didn't play well, and just wasn't fun at all. It's been a long, ass, time, since I have been this excited for a CoD title release. I'm playing this nonstop when i'm not working lmfao
