Why did osrs gold price crash so much?

I remember selling my gold for $0.95/m like 2 weeks ago, now I can get $0.85 max. Does someone have a huge ass gold farm or what or is everyone just quitting rs?

 

Not sure but I assume Bitcoin prices have something to do with it, as paypal rates have stayed near the same.

 

-People drive down the price by selling gold for the first offer they get.
-Mass item inflation so people need less gold to do everything.
-this is generally the slowest part of the year.

The people with mass farms do not sell gold to people lowballing since it makes them lose a lot of money in the long run. I would advise everyone to negotiate gold prices when selling and always be willing to walk away.

 

More websites not holding any stock themselves which makes short over-supplies harder to suck up, what results in fast price dropping

 

People are also getting older and quitting. Let's face it, younger generations do not find RS appealing.

I think it's partly because people are wanting to hold BTC atm, so people are competing. I believe a few people said things similar to this as well.

 

I think a partial reason is because Ardougne Knight clans are starting to grow which literally brings 100 new coins in the game every pickpocket per person. Seeing as it is as afk as alching and seeing as all the other thieving methods are aids I can see this having a real major impact on the economy.

Gold is bound to go down over time, much more gold is entering the economy than is leaving.

 

imo, it's mainly because there have been no new updates recently that give incentive for money EG. when raids came out prices boomed. And there needs to be more gold sinks like bonds, recently it's been nothing but dog shit updates to the economy.

 

Prices always drop around this time then begin to rise against towards the end of november

Usually depends on the supply held by the retail sellers. If they're low on invent they'll pay a few cents more. If they're full up they'll probably take a nickle or a dime off and take it as profit. Also has to do with the price of Bitcoin and always other factors.

 

Its all about supply and demand if they got high supply but low demand the price will drop but if they have high demand but low supply it will go up..
