    Excel doesn't recognize the document
    Microsoft Excel doesn't recognize .xlsx document. This happens on both my computers.
    Any suggestions as to what causes this?

    Office 2016

    Excel doesn't recognize the document
    You can either use roary's link and try those methods, or what i normally do is upload the doc onto Google Drive and redownload it to the proper extension.

    Excel doesn't recognize the document
    Try the following in options:
    1.Disabling Auto Recover and Autosave.
    2. Unchecking the "open email attachments in reading view".
    3.Disabling Protected View.
    4.Adding the network folder location to Trusted Locations.
