Grand Exchange Trading - Impossible

With the new update that came out, many people assumed that trading through the Grand Exchange would be a possible way to transfer wealth. Today, I tried this out with Thread, which has a price margin of 3-4 GP (25%). I used thread because you can buy it from a store, and it is stackable. I bought 500K thread, and put it up for sale for my customer at 3 GP each. He also had a buy offer of 3 gp each on 250K thread. To our surprise, Jagex did not allow me to sell him the thread through the Grand Exchange. Despite both our offers being equal, our transaction would not go through.

This means that Jagex has covertly prohibited the sale of bulk low-priced items in the GE. I assume the waiting time between when you can sell a marginally priced item (such as thread which varies by 25%) corresponds to the trade limit. So to say, if you want to sell 100K thread, which has a margin of 100K, then you will probably have to wait 8.3 hours (100K/3K*4). That's at least what I assume they did, which is bad news because that was a potentially simple way of trading.

I don't call you out in specific, but I just want to raise the issue.

No one else is helping with guides about their bounty hunter method either. To be completely honest, that method is completely unrealistic. Unless someone finds a MUCH MORE EFFICIENT way of trading using the bounty hunter idea, I think we're done now that this great concept of price margin trading has been defeated.

 

Using the GE as a trading method is not impossible, to say so would be ill advised.

First, there is a 50,000 quantity limit on all items, if I remember correctly, although that could be off.

Second, putting in a limit like that would kill off half the exchange, unless they only did it for extremely low priced easy to get in bulk items.

EVEN if they did put a block on some items, we simply use a few GP higher priced items. Sure, the seller and buyer will have to have a little more GP than before, but I'd hardly call that defeated.

I haven't had a chance to fully test everything because I've had little to no time lately to devote to the computer at all.

Lastly, I'll simply say, USING THE GE WILL NEVER BE IMPOSSIBLE NOR REMOVED!

There is ONE thing Jagex could do, and that would have a SET price for everything, no 5%, no nothing. One, constant, set price.

If that update were to happen, the economy would die, and I can insure you, the game would actually die off.

Jagex can't stop RWTing, that is the one thing that is impossible and will remain to be so.

Practically yes. But this is a true and efective method. Jagex will soon find out about so exploit as much as you can now.

Like I said, it's impossible to buy 250,000 of ANY item, not just thread. I believe there is a 50,000 quantity limit, therefore this entire thread would be giving people the wrong idea.

Secondly, also like I said, it is IMPOSSIBLE to stop this. The ONE and ONLY way Jagex could would be to have fixed prices for EVERYTHING, which even though their past updates have put people into shock, even they wouldn't do. It would truly kill the economy, and the game would slowly die off.

You should of tested this more thoroughly than one trade of 250,000 thread as you have given many members a completely wrong impression.
