File possibly infected with virus

Hey, I accidentally clicked and opened a rs phishing email which went into some random site with only arabic letters. I left the page immediately but after that I have been getting "HxTSR.exe" / "HsTSR.exe" tried running every few minutes and my antivirus is blocking it but it tries to run soon after that again.

Antivirus however doesn't find anything suspicious when I try running a scan. I tried to manually delete that file but it seems it is located under microsoftapps or windowsapps and I'm unable to access the file directory due to having insufficient rights even when i try running it as administrator. Any ideas on how to get rid of that file and do you agree that its most likely a virus I got from that site?

I'm suspecting this may be a trojan horse taking place of the legit file and I'm pretty sure about the guy who sent this link to me, he makes his living by scamming and hacking people so i'm kinda worried.

 

Highly recommend just restoring your PC to a date before you clicked the email. Your PC should have some restore points saved. You can do this by using System Recovery on your PC.

 

Thanks for advice, it appears however that those restore points were turned off for some reason and computer hasn't saved any. I'll have to try resetting instead which should reinstall windows 10 and delete all app files etc. if I'm not mistaken.

If you didn't download anything you're good. Most virus's are only working once you run them. Although they do sometimes download automatically.

Apparently it is a part of Windows, and a part of Outlook as I read elsewhere. Chances are, if you only clicked the phishing link, you should be fine. You have to run a file downloaded, which can be downloaded automatically. I also read that it gets flagged as a virus so Norton, so it could just be a coincidence. If you want to take an extra precaution, do a full root scan. It will take some time but will scan literally everything on your hard drive. Good luck!
