Jagex banning more Inferno cape buyers/sellers

Buyer bans are not permanent, but seller bans are.

 

Inferno capes heavily moderated. With the amount of people currently able to complete these capes it's not difficult for them to review the IPs that complete the capes

As more and more learn the method to complete it, bans should reduce imo

 

My thoughts are that if they're going to go after people they should focus on people botting (Which seems to be a pretty big problem right now), not people buying inferno capes.

 

That's silly to assume, as we don't know how automated their detection systems are. If they hooked up an IP upon cape completion, detection of different access is instant. Even better, if they use their home IPs, accounts will link without investigation.

And that's with assuming Weath does the analysis, which isn't necessary.

On the other hand, Jagex actually does a great job banning bots. Mod Mat K once said that 80% of bots don't make it past tutorial island. The majority of people will laugh at that; "but F2P worlds are infested with bots"!.

He's right. 80% of my bots get banwaved under 48 hours after completing tutorial island, and then logging out. That's how many bots are flowing in, Jagex does a great job at it.

 

Such a insanely retarded reason to get banned, and more retarded that Jagex even goes after these people.

Who honestly gives a fuck that someone pays someone else to complete a cape lol this has got to be the pettiest thing in the hierarchy of "lets ban _____ today."

Was going to pay someone to do this, guess i'll just wait a few months until Jagex is done farming their good-boy faggot Reddit points for "hurr durr we gud debelopers we ban FIRE CAPES L3L!!"

I think Jagex has said before that the process for identifying and banning inferno cape buyers is very manual. I would still give it a few more months before it's safe to buy them though

Edit - If you're going to buy an inferno cape have the person connect your computer and problem solved, make it so you can kick them off immediately at any time if need be.

I've seen some bots running for months on end without a ban.

 

Don't forget most ""bots"" that run for months on end - like max main wyvern/dragon bots are actually goldfarmers run by hand.

Yes, bots can stay alive assuming you follow very strict guidelines... such as low botting hours and method hopping. That being said, you'll always be able to stay ahead of the system. Cat and mouse. Jagex has really done a great job chasing the mouse, though.

 

How many people do you think can do the inferno cape successfully?

 

At this point, probably at least 50-100 people since it's been out for some time now. As time progresses it will definitely increase, but it's still very complex, and most people would rather just pay to get the cape, rather than waste days upon days trying to attempting it. I personally think I'll never be able to do it myself just because you need to be a god pray flicker, and have an amazing attention span to keep up with what is going on.

 

When someone learns to get this 1 prayer, they're making a living haha
