Looking for laptop around $300-$350

Looking for a good value laptop for someone around $400 CAD (or $300-$350 USD). I live in Canada if that matters (going to order online probably). They aren't a gamer but might occasionally want to do stuff like edit videos. It is mostly for school. Suggestions?

 

For school, I'd get something like this:

The Nvidia Tegra K1 is a quad core CPU, it has 4GB's of RAM and it runs on Chrome OS, so less overhead from the operating system. A nifty little system, obviously not made for heavy workloads but will run smooth on most production applications.

 

16gb storage seems a bit small?

 

16GB is way too little. Also, OP wants to edit videos - Chrome OS is too basic I'd say. I'd go for something else personally, like the Dell Vostro 15 which has an i5-Core processor with 4GB RAM and 500 gb HDD. The model with a full HD resolution is ~$450

 

I bought a great dell laptop for $350 last year on black friday from the microsoft store. i5 processor, 8gb Ram, 1tb hard drive.

Just wait for the sales to start up once the school year comes or just wait for black friday online sales.

I bought the laptop I'm currently on for $329. HP 17" x114dx on microcenter. i5 7200u 6gb ram 1tb HDD. Only downfall is the wireless adapter isnt dual band so no 5ghz. (Bought an adapter for $20). Going to upgrade and add an SSD but so far so good!

Microcenter has great deals on refurbished laptops.

ur gonna have to wait till a sale because for 400$ cad u wont get anything that can edit videos unless ur willing to go w a 1-2 gen i7 m processor and whatever quadro was part of that production line and for that ur gonna have to hunt on newegg.ca Unless ur doing basic edit like pk videos, than u can find a good 4-6th gen i5 m processor laptop like this

Dude just invest the extra money and get a better laptop... forreal like a 300 dollar laptop is like buying a 50 dollar phone...

 

You probably already got one, but Amazon tends to have the best deals on laptops.

There's no need to spend more than $450 on a laptop unless it needs a good graphics card. After that point you'll only see a modest performance improvement.
