Sythe PR Team - feedback & suggestions

Hey guys, since PR team members + leaders changed up a little bit, I'd like to hear your current opinion of PR and what you'd like to see more of.

Please let me know what we can do to make you guys more happy with the current status of PR. Thank you!

 

By the looks of it, you're doing a lot of good work. Actively seeking out YouTubers and other content creators is an awesome way to get the message out these days. I think a lot of people may like to see a thread really outlining who each member is and what you guys do, rather than just a brief description like in the recruitment thread. Also, it could be cool if everyone started to push the promotion of Sythe. Perhaps reminding people of the referral system and stepping up the incentives could drive people to bring in others and add more active members to the community? Overall, though, I'd say the PR team has a good presence and it's clear you're trying to grow the user-base. Thanks for your hard work!

Looking for suggestions on how we can improve as a team.

In light of the new PR member Stream Punk being banned for scamming (shortly after unbanned only due to his worker turning back to his side - lucky you), I think it's time for this suggestion.

I think extensive background checks should be applied to ALL CDT/PR applications, to, y'know, avoid adding people like that to such a respected and helpful team. It only causes harm and with the checks it'd just simply help weave out those type of people.

LMK what you think.

EDIT: I already received a negative opinion from Sneaky, whether he is bias or not I have no idea. I'm aware they were friends, not accusing you though. Can I please have other opinions because I dont see why this would be denied in any way possible.

 

As far as I'm aware, they already do run some checks. Also, in this case it was a private report, which leads me to believe the only evidence for a ban was relatively secretive and therefore investigation from CDT/PR leaders wouldn't have found anything anyway? Idk, I just feel like it's unnecessary. Call me biased if you want but people are accepted onto these teams for their presence and participation in the community and if they manage to keep a darker side under wraps then there's not much that can be done in the way of prevention. Finally, background checks only help to a certain point anyway. As well as CDT/PR members being banned, there have been admins/mods deranked and banned in the past, too, which were obviously unforseeable.

 

I understand. I just think further checks should apply to ensure there is absolutely no link to any past offences.
I'm not saying you should try and incriminate someone, just thoroughly ensure that they have no links to anything against the rules.
And yes it was a private report, originally because I didn't want Punk to know and wanted to let the CDT/PR keep it private to avoid any critism on it. But the fact that he was unbanned after scamming has kind of changed my mind in the sense that it should be known.

 

Well noted. Will definitely do more checks in the future personally. Sometimes it may be a little difficult as some are very good at hiding things until private reports come up. Nevertheless, I personally will for sure do more checks before acceptance.

I believe more checks would just help yourselves and I agree, some times things can not be found, So I guess that's the exception.

@Sythe How is it that the PR Team Leader can go inactive for almost a month and not get kicked? When I was a member / leader of the PR Team people started bugging me when I didnt do something for days, or even when they thought I wasnt doing anything when I was.

To add to the above, he is supposed to run a tournament: SytheScape Dharok Tournament [Cash Prizes!]
The update to the tournament was supposed to take place long ago by Sneaky Fish but he hasnt done that because he is inactive.

Haven't seen anything from them in ages, probably could do with another reshuffle or a collapse of the team entirely.

 

Currently in the works of reshuffling the team/leadership.

As for the Dhorak's tourney, i'll speak with sneaky about it as it does seem it hasn't been updated.

If you're looking to promote events world-wide, I'd suggest getting an advertisement from here.

The last time I checked for my private server, ads were extremely cheap and spread across many forums for the price of one.

 

It has been a while now since the PR team has changed its members. We are curious to know what you think of it and we are always looking for suggestions/feedback in order to improve.

 

Good job with the FC as it's become quite active. You guys are killing it. Even my RL friends have heard of "FC" just from the advertising throughout the busy worlds.

My only suggestion is:

More advertisements in the OSRS Discord chat for Sythe as that's the main goal of having the FC in the first place.
