Community moderation

So since there are lots of new obvious fake website threads that some times takes over an hour to be taken down i would suggest to try look for a solution where everyone in the community could help get rid of them faster. Maybe something like when an user with below lets say 200 post count gets certain amount of reports all their posts get hidden until a moderator checks it?(With strict rules against abusers)

When you talk about post count, this makes the mod/admins job a whole lot harder. If the threads are hidden then it would take time unhiding each and every thread if the report made is false.

This effectively means that people can mass flag down RSGoldFund's thread (which is the site that holds the majority of the RSPS Market) and his thread would be hidden until a mod reapproves it again.

This can easily be abused and I will wait on what the knowledgeable @Bus369 has to say about this.

TL;DR: If you find an imposter site then join the discord and tag all the mods and the thread will be removed.

As i mentioned before it must meet certain criterias to be done, and it's quite easy to add some to make abuse is almost non existant(as making only old users reports count towards it, and simply banning people for abuse), and it doesn't really add much extra work for mods/admins (except implementing the feature) compared to advantages


Edit: you probably didn't understand what i meant, which was it not working on users with post count above 200~, and i'm quite sure some kind of "silent" mode which hides all user posts could be made which could be turned on/off with 1 click, because i've seen many forums that have this feature

 

Just report it or tag a staff member on discord as that's the fastest way of dealing with these fake threads.

i get what you are saying but i'm guessing 95%+ of the forums are adults and should have a bit of logic in them to do the very basic checks before even smelling the rat

3 step process (give or take)

1. download discord

2. make discord account

3. join sythe discord

4. optional get verified?

5. tag a staff member that you see online in the staff bar on the right



Less than a minute ago of me posting this I said I needed help and within 10 seconds I got a response.

 

After seeing your thread I got told to start tagging in discord and the threads get sorted within a minute

Not going to change the current system for a relatively minor problem that is often solved almost immediately
