Was Trump putting "America first" by attacking Syria?

 

Nope, I'm not a fan of what he did. It's funny how this thread has turned into people who previously had nothing to say dropping by every time Trump makes what can be perceived as a mistake when the original intent of the thread was to say "Nothing but good things have happened since Trump was elected so far yet people believe we're doomed." I didn't hear anyone saying "Trump's going to bomb a Syrian airbase" at that time.

Apparently the airbase he bombed is not confirmed to be the one that launched the sarin attack. Originally I did not morally object to the bombing, which targeted equipment/airways/weaponry, because multiple sources told us it was this air base specifically. I much preferred the liberal memes of Trump and Putin being buttbuddies over Trump dropping bombs on Russian allies, but I guess we'll see what happens from here.

Remember that Hillary was planning on doing the exact same kinda shit. With only two realistic outcomes to the election, Russian/Syrian conflict was apparently inevitable.

 

It was just a question. A big driving point conversatives used to stand by Trump was his unwavering resolve to put "America first". Since he took office, his stance on positions have flipped. Just an observation.

 

I agree. I apologize, it's just any time anything happens it seems I have to defend Trump on this thread because somebody wants to post and try to say "I told you so" while bringing up points that were never mentioned pre-election.

I only started paying attention when @Sythe pointed out Hillary's plans for a no-fly zone in Syria which would not be shooting down Assad's aircraft but Russian aircraft. I voted against Hillary, not necessarily in support of Trump.

 

Why aren't you pro-Assad? Putting Assad in power ASAP will put a stop to civilian casualties a lot sooner than if ISIS/Rebels take control of Syria. In my honest opinion, this is the best choice at the moment because Assad will inevitably take control of Syria anyways. Also, there aren't anymore moderate rebels. Most of them are extreme/ISIS supporters. The moderates have either died or joined Assad's regime.

 

I probably shouldn't be posting on this topic. I thought I knew what was going on. Now after reading through the source spyder linked above I'm not so sure I know what I'm talking about anymore. I'm open to learning new things

 

I would agree with that, to be honest, however, I'm stating that there were simply for the sake of argument since a lot of people do believe there were moderate rebels (who were deemed to be the "good guys" in the civil war).

 

In all fairness, the majority of people probably think Assad is some genocidal dictator hellbent on killing his own people (since that's what the entire Western media and even our top officials push).

The reality is actually entirely and utterly the opposite.



There haven't been real investigations into what happens in Syria under Assad's government. All information being fed to the West is by the "rebels" (White Helmets/Daesh/Al-Qaeda etc).

If anyone ever brings up this topic or challenges you as to who you should support, just remember the "moderate rebels" are in reality moderate beheaders. If Syria/Assad falls, all of Syria comes under the control of terrorists.

Lol I'd hardly call it that. More so a lack of follow up. Trump is doing the things that got him elected in the first place. He isn't dwelling on the past like the whole democratic and MSM is doing. He's doing his job first and foremost.
