    QUITTING MY ADDICTION OF CANNABIS

    Hey Guys

So long story short i have smoked weed for about 12 years i started at a really young age because my brothers smoked it.

After years and years of thinking weed was good for me i have started to realise that my depression being down lazy not wanting to do anything go out socialize drink beer was down to smoking weed.

Im not saying every one gets addicted i am just saying in my personal situation i was dependant on weed i needed it to sleep eat when i woke up i need one.

Now after years and years of spending all my money on weed every day and my habbit wasnt $10 a day sending easy 30-40 a day on it.

I have dug my self a hole now no job no friend no gf and living with my dad who is disabled and recently divorced my mother so hes not the happiest person to be around.

SO after we realising all this and been hard to come to the decision i am going to quit weed!

I have been 24 hours with out a joint and it the first time in 10 years that this has happened!

So i know its only been 24 hours but so far i feel alot more awake and alert!

I can do i will do it!

Just wanted to say if any one else is in the situation because people see weed as harmless people dont realise the adverse effect it has on your brain long term(only some people not everyone)

24 hours down many more to come!

Just want to say you can do it! You can better your life! Your DESERVE IT!

    Good luck my man!

Quit a few months ago for ~4 months while I was looking for employment incase I got tested. I didn't really have trouble sleeping, but I didn't have much of an appetite for a week or so. In that time, crackers, little baby carrots, and fruit smoothies were a godsend.

About 2-3 days in I felt like I was on "my period", super moody for about 2-3 weeks or so. Nothing gets worst after your 4th day after quitting, you just deal with the irritability and before you know it, it's been a month and a half and you're feeling A-ok.

    Keep up the good work!

Hey man thats great for you, I started smoking weed multiple times a day too near the end of my freshman year of college and it really does fuck with the rest of your life. I ended up getting mad insecurities and anxiety and I just delved way too far into situations that didn't need to be delved into. I completely get where you're at and the issues you're facing so if you need someone to talk to help you out and to help you make sure you stay strong with not smoking, just hit me up on skype @ "Live:r5vtrades".

    QUITTING MY ADDICTION OF CANNABIS

Good luck man, i smoke weed but i will only smoke it after work. Some people enjoy a beer after work i like to roll a massive joint. If i am off work and have nothing to do i will sit there and smoke all day. My brother has no job and sits there smoking all day, not 100% sure how he affords his habbit for someone like him whos unemployed i'd advise to stop if you cannot afford the habbit. I would say i am addicted but only to a certain level where i will smoke atleast 1 joint a day and spend around £30 every week on 3.5 grams of the finest i can get my hands on. I always try to go Amsterdam once every year for a real smoke with friends, that is when i will smoke 3.5 grams a day ha!

Other than that bro if you feel like its going to improve your life style social life etc then its up to you. Weed is just getting more common around my area now than someone smoking a ciggerette.

Hard to quit cold turkey because of what you have mentioned, lack of sleep, appetite, etc.

Keep your chin up and keep going :)

It can definitely make one feel a bit 'off' to go from heavy smoker to not smoking at all. I have to do this in intervals (smoke 1 year, quit for 2 months, repeat) due to shitty circumstances IRL. The best way I can tell you to handle it is to use it as medicine, not recreation. If you need it as a sleep aid, using oral ingestion (brownies, tinctures, etc) in small doses will do WONDERS - no need to get 'super baked, maaaan', and same for appetite.

If you absolutely must 100% quit ingesting cannabis of all kinds, separate yourself entirely from social circles that smoke (hang out with them individually, they're more prone to respecting your wishes of no smoke around you then), and find something to occupy your time. The times you'd typically be smoking, do push-ups for the duration of what you would perceive to be how long a blunt would burn.

It's all mental with cannabis, there are no physical withdrawals. Entirely mind>matter when it comes to conquering the mental withdrawals, though, so there's some good news

I've been smoking weed since the age of around 13 so coming up to 15 years and it's both a positive and a negative, the negatives are the money/laziness and the positives it makes me content with what i have. I have never been a drinker or someone to socialize anyway so i'm not going to try force myself into being that way because it's the "normal" weed is perfect for an introvert.

Alright let me give you my experience, I am an occasional smoker and from what I've noticed there are absolutely no side effects (for me) if you stick to the cannabis and do it occasionally. I would say every 1-2 weeks. Now the issue is, when you start doing it more often you want that feeling again. Even though it's proven that it is non addictive, you might like it that much that you still crave for a joint. In the end it is up to you. If you want to smoke all the time, do it. You're old enough to decide for yourself and no one here is able to stop you. If you don't want to smoke, don't. It really is that simple. If I were you I would quit completely until I would have the financial support to do what I enjoy. There is nothing wrong with that however if it is messing up your entire life, I would suggest against it.

    Best of luck.

At the end of the day, it completely depends on the reason you want to quit. Is it money related? Or because of actual bodily functions that you feel have been altered? If you don't currently know, microdosing can be very effective in remaining you high throughout the day at a much less cost, the problem is when you think "Yeah i'll put .5 in and you end up needing at least half of that in your next joint to reach the level of high you felt when you finished the first. By the time you have done this, depending on where you live a .7 bag would have disappeared in two joints, it really doesn't matter how big your joints are, it's all about personal preference, and what your situation is financially, emotionally etc. But I hope you are still on track to where you want to be whether you have come back to the green side or not!;)
