    How should I start coding?

    Hi there :)
It's always been a goal of mine to learn to make softwares. Only problem is, I don't know where to get started. I mainly wanna do (as I stated above) software stuff such as making scripts etc. Could you point me in the right direction as to what languages to start with, how to learn them, and any other tips you may have. Thanks for reading and I look forward to all your answered :D

Developing software and writing scripts is actually quite different. Do you have an idea or example of the kind of program that you would like to do?

code academy really is your best bet, i saw how you said you wanted to use it above. You easily learn the language there and, though i did it back in school too, i didn't enjoy it because i self-taught myself it starting from programming with project insanity and learning java that way (while being spoon fed most of my code and just remembering how it looks, but that's literally the same concept as learning). i'd recommend you do the same as I did if you want to take it an easy and slow way, you really learn what code goes where and why it does if you begin to look at their code more in-depth, especially if you're leeching off of a good programmer on rune-server, and not those sloppy half-ass written codes.

Tomorrow go to the library and search for a book about Object-oriented Programming.
If you are serious about learning to code, this will help you out so much.

Your right lol, the "JUST DO IT" is a problem I have. I put so much stuff to the side even when I really want to do this. Thank you for that advice :)

I agree with the CodeCademy suggestions. I didn't personally learn from them, but I've done the Ruby course and can vouch that it's quite thorough. After you learn the basic syntax and whatnot, the most important part of learning to program is practicing! Just like any other skill, practice makes perfect. Hackerrank is a terrific website for programming challenges. There's even a feature in the website where if you satisfy a specific problem's requirements, you'll automatically be offered a job interview by a near by company!

Project Euler is a fun way to get used to the basics. It's very rewarding for beginners since they can solve interesting and challenging problems with basic programming knowledge! Good luck :)

If you're going to use an IDE make sure it's one that provides good tips and is helpful when you do something wrong.

I'm currently developing an RSPS if there's something I can teach you there.

Purchase a book relating to a certain programming language. Read the book. Then, apply the knowledge by using programming challenge websites or working on projects of personal interest.

I can recall using very early on.
