Renaming 07/RS3 WTB/WTS threads

Recently the change was implemented to RuneScape Gold Exchange to:
Sell RuneScape 3 EOC Gold (WTB threads)
Buy RuneScape 3 EOC Gold (WTS threads)
Sell Oldschool RuneScape 2007 Gold (WTB threads)
Buy Oldschool RuneScape 2007 Gold (WTS threads)

I'm seeing alot of confusion happening. Some people believe they need to post their threads for selling gold in "Sell X RuneScape X Gold" while in fact they need to be posted in the "WTS threads" section. Same issue happens the other way around. I heard this change was made to improve traffic from external websites. However it does cause quite the confusion here. I'd like to suggest this changes to be reverted or the section titles to be more specific. Leave out "WTB" if it's a selling thread and leave out "WTS" if it's a buying thread.

Thoughts?

 

Yea this confused me a lot, maybe @Sythe can take a look into this and make it a little easier to navigate?

 

I already moved them, so none atm. I mean it's no problem to move them, but I am a 100% certain it causes confusion for some people.

 

it isn't that hard to figure out, but you have to remember the competency of the average user

 

I think the titles are fine you go to "buying" if your looking to buy gp, and "selling" if your looking to sell. Wouldn't want any change to hinder traffic.

 

That's where it goes wrong, because you actually go to "Sell" if you want to buy and to "Buy" if you want to sell.

 

I'm talking from a buyers perspective they'd go to buying. And a seller would go to selling. I got confused myself then for a sec when u posted this haha

 

Anytime I manually grab a thread I fuck up and grab the wrong one IMO, I've started trying to use shortkeys and chat links because frankly even now(a month after they've been changed)- I still find myself visiting the sections backwards then going back and going to to the right one.

It's not HARD to figure out, but for users like me who visit the sections 10 times a day and are used to things being the same for years, I do get confused tbh.

Support. Definitely confused me at first when the changes were made, prior to these changes it seemed a lot more clear and easier to navigate around those sections.

 

Honestly, I had not problem with it but I do see how some people might get confused.

No support here, imo it's better the way it is, easier for new members to navigate and if the change was also made to increase traffic it's just one more reason it should stay the way it is.

 

I think i suggested this before and it was denied so i don't think it will happen, but all these threads in wrong section are very annoying

 

It's horrible how's it's described now in my opinion, it should be changed, it's confusing at the moment. (Sell runescape gold in willing to buy threads? doesn't make sense, since you can't post WTB threads in sell runescape gold section at all)

I support, the titles are confusing for a lot of people if even our own sythe members are getting confused. Imagine how confusing it must be to someone who has no experience in buying/selling things online or how forums works. That's why threads are always placed in the wrong section.

WTB and WTS needs to be changed.

 

If we want to keep it in the perspective of the buyer I suggest just putting your or something. I think that the change should be reverted though because most people see it in the seller's perspective imo. Here's an example that kind of applies to this situation but not entirely. In the GE most people advertise in their perspective. EX: Selling Rune scim. Most people look at it in the seller's perspective :L.

 

Support it did confuse me the first time I was trying to buy gold in a while

 

support. if we switch it, there will most likely be 0 negatives to going back to the original format. those who say its easy to navigate need to understand the intelligence of an average user which is lacking. I can navigate it regardless, but it is definitely an issue for some users.

 

This is needed for SEO purposes.
