[Food] KFC - Zinger Sandwich

If you're in one of 120+ countries that are not the USA, this sandwich is old news. But the 124th or something country to get this sandwich is... THE USA! Say it with me now. Dew S A. Dew S A! DEW S A!!!!

Price Paid: $5 for a Box combo (sandwich + side + drink + cookie)





As is usual with premium chicken sandwiches, the protein is a fine 100% white chick. Lumpy, sure, but you learn to live with it as she ages. Extra crispy tan instead of a regular tan because well white chicken is quite pale.

Seriously though, the spicy flavor of the chicken is your generic spicy flavor that you get with Wendy's chicken or even frozen chicken. Except a lot of the bites were quite flavorful. This sandwich was THICC. I feel like it could use some other sauce, or maybe a couple of pickles or something because their mayo wasn't the greatest at all. Lettuce was nice and fresh, chicken was really crunchy but didn't hurt your mouth.

Really great sandwich, though the flavor maybe be generic, it is a promising product and a step in the right (spicy) direction.

Also, I had to talk to the cashier for like 2 minutes trying to explain what I wanted:

Yo, I want the Zinger Fill-up Box
"What 2 sides?"
What? No I want the Fill-up Box -points-
"Which one do you want the one with one side or two?"
Fill-up Box, right there
"Yeah that's the one with two sides.. it is $7.50"
It says $5 right there
"Oh yeah that one"

Pricing Scheme:
Sandwich = $3.99
add a drink + side to that = $5
add a drink + side + cookie to it instead = $5

I wanted that cookie. I wasn't going to let her take my technically free cookie away from me.

(Their potato wedges weren't as good as I remember them being like in the 1940's or whatever).

5/5, the main improvements could be with the bun, which didn't have anything interesting going on, and the sauce.

I'd get this product again.

Creamy Golden Gaytime? Sounds like a blast to me!

 

It's just a mcchicken with an extra layer of breading. I thought it was going to have some sort of spicy sauce since it's called the zinger. Kinda disappointed although it still does look pretty good. Still a top tier review, mika.

 

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a McChicken. McChicken's don't use a chicken filet as it's on their dollar menu while the premium chicken sandwiches do (like the Zinger and McDonald's other chicken sandwhiches). The McChicken is just two buns and a large chicken nugget in the middle.

 

That... is a LOT of food for cheap... especially since it comes with wings.... which in America are always $1-2 each.

Ingredients-wise, mostly yes. McD does have better mayo imo. But comparing the chicken... you can't.

This. It is nothing but chicken fat and dark meat.

 

Fair enough @Alex_J_Leon and @Admires. I'll try it and see if it lives up to the hype.

 

It is just really good, but lacks anything to call it unique. Hopefully, they'll come out with an interesting variation of it within the next 1-10 years, knowing KFC. Pepsi just devotes their energy to Taco Bell.

 

Looks solid, but at that price I'd honestly rather get a spicy chicken sandwich at Chick-Fil-A.

You ever try their "Nashville Hot" or whatever it was called chicken? I've been wondering if it's worth going out and grabbing

 

Chick-Fil-A is honestly THE BEST. Too bad there aren't any close to me This is why I have to settle for KFC.

I've tried Nashville Hot chicken strips and they were great.

 

Everyone will tell you they're amazing... when done properly. The first time I got them they were half-done properly, second time they were just meh. I don't think they sell them anymore, but get them the next time around. You won't regret it. I just have crappy fast food locations.

Also, I kinda forgot that a Chic-fil-a sandwich is like $3.50. I always think of it as being more expensive. That place is a high 5/5.. I can't believe I used to get their nuggets.

 

They arent that good, the sandwiches. The chicken pieces in the boxes are better.

 

I feel you dude, there isn't a Chick-fil-A anywhere close to my campus and I used to live right next to one. It's been hard dealing without that juicy chicken

No shame in their nuggets man, they're so good, especially with all of their sauces Only fastfood place to actually have pieces of chicken as their nuggets instead of the deepfried chicken paste (which I love too smh).

 

Like local places? Yeah of course. I think it was good, but my rating may be inflated. They are always relative to my opinion of the place overall (not a fan of KFC).

Yeah I love how moist CFA chicken is... but I just think their sandwich makes it so much better. You can even use the sauce on a few bites of the sandwich to mix things up. Wow, I really need to go to CFA soon.

Golden gaytime krushers are.. mouth watering.
They are honestly the best "milkshake" I've ever had.

 

I used to drink Frappucinos almost every day, so I know allll about the uh blended frozen beverages. I honestly just said that to make fun of the name of it.. I REALLY want the kookies n kream one.. but I just looked up what a Golden Gaytime is and omg I want that one too >.<
