Staff Evaluation

The reason for posting this is because I actually don’t think you’re (admin) aware of half these situations:

Ok, where do we start… Let’s start with the administrator of sythe.

Sythe – Great job mate, you’re keeping the site going and keeping this place a good community for everyone to enjoy. Which will are greatful for.

Steph – Well you’re on uni, so that is understandable, yet you still find the time to come on sythe and (I’m guessing) check the staff lounge just to make sure everything is running awesomely Great Job

Clashfan – Is fine

SMR – Is new, although his ideas are excellent, the development team is such a good idea, something that sythe.org actually needs, to get some more cheating back into this site, get the popularity back up, not just for the black market, but also the cheating

Matthew – FAIL. I’m surprised sythe hasn’t kicked you’re ass out. You’re never online (oh sorry you posted a few posts in the black market about a week or so ago) There have been MULTI threads on donations to sythe, in the actually sythe donator lounge & suggestions. I’m really surprised sythe hasn’t replaced you tbh.

GLOBALS:
Ok, if I'm not mistaken their job role is look over the forums, give out infractions, keep the forums clean and do the disputes and scammer section: Ok there are 3 new globals (well new I mean, have returned) Cheeter, Ryan, & Tilex (Chad Sexington)

So out of the seven global mods left, lets have a look at the scammer section?

Ok out of the first four pages of the scammer section, only two global moderators, and one MARKET MOD (I thought market mods didn’t do scammer reports?) posted in there to try and resolve the report. Pen & Atomic used to do a good job in that section, but since that it has gone to shits.

Spammer section – Ok now I don’t know who is suppose to mod that, but I'm guessing it’s not the Market mods as they have just been added to the Moderators of that section. Great job that Phil and Josh have been doing in there, oh sorry and Dave (Wow Sucks)

Ok so now I’m wondering what the rest of the globals do??? Lets have a look in the dispute forum

It seems every staff member likes to have a go at actually posting in here, but great work goes to Clash, Pen and Atomic for actually resolving the threads, not just spamming them with comments like “well you answered your own dispute” etc.

I can’t see the mod logs, who knows, who is pressing “close thread”, “sticky”,”open”,”move”.

Market Mods

Phil – Although you’re not active in the marketplace, you would make a great global, the work you do in the scammer, dispute and spammer section, surely wouldn’t go unnoticed.

Josh0is0here – “same as phil’s comments”

R2pleasent – Cares about his shop, I actually don’t think he posts anywhere else in the black market tbh

DarkSpark – Right, I know he has a kid and all, but hrm… inactive mods look bad, kind of like have 10 global mods, while three or four do the actual work.

GFX Team:

You guys do an amazing job. You keep the SOTW’s running as well as that whole forum, if it wasn’t for you guys that section would fail, and would properly end up where the User Education section is today.

Programming Team:
Great job, always ready to lend a hand when it’s needed.

RS Team:
Wow Sucks – Great Job, excellent to see that you’re not scared to get in and do some spammer reports as well nice job
Rest: FAIL – Half you’re stickies are out of date

I hope that gives you some insight so you know what the generally members of sythe are thinking, and why there are so many suggestion reports and members whining about reports not being done.

This thread is not an attack on any staff member, it is merely a …. Guidance...

I've tried my best in the scammer section. To be honest I have a problem banning people. There is so much framing so if I i have any doubts I don't ban because I don't wanna ban an innocent guy. I think it's very hard to decide.

How about this. If you wanna help you can go through threads and PM me and lay out the evidence.

You'll be the prosecutor and I'll be the jury+judge ^^

 

Actually the Dev Team wasn't really my idea And matt uses invisible mode, so you can't see whether he's online or not... I wouldn't judge someone's activity based on how often they post.

I'm not going to bother saying anything much, but a couple of his points are extremely valid.

 

Most of your points are completly right.

Especially with the scammer reports, something has to be done with them.

However, you must remember, just because you don't see some mods posting doesn't mean they don't do anything. For exmaple can you see deleted posts or deleted threads.

I pretty much second that. I understand that theres alot of behind the scenes work, but maybe a little more to show for it would be nice.

Boom Headashot, WoW Sucks, Shredderbeam, Pen, Clashfan, SMR, Atomic, Steph - (She's busy, though, so she can't be blamed for slight inactivity), - Josh0is0Here, and Fouisgras.

All very reliable, and hardworking.
Oh, and I generally like them all, too.

Clashfan and SMR in particular have been extremely helpful to me in recent weeks. Shredder has also shown himself to me as an extremely responsible mod.

I don't think you are in the position to really judge. You have no view behind the scenes, all you see is what is publicly viewable. With myself in particular, you are obviously unaware that I keep the Gold/Item Exchange extremely clean. If you compare it to before I was a Market Mod, you'll see a huge difference.

 

The only people who can judge the staff IMO is the staff. They have a private lounge where they do alot of work behind the scenes. What you see isn't always what you get .

 

I kinda agree with R2, you don't have views behind the scenes, nor do I, so we can't really judge, but few things you point out are right.

However, I made my 'credits' to what I've seen, who's been helpful, and most importantly for me, who talks to you, without treating you as their inferior, like a certain few people tend to.

I agree mostly on what you've posted, except for the programming mods - Yea, they help out, but take Puzzle's sticky for example. It's waaaaay out of date, half the stuff doesn't work and the other half are dead links.

 

Of course i can't see the staff lounge and behind the scenes, but Will that doesn't matter as much, it's what the general members think, they can see who is active and inactive... and there is more to the black market than just the gold exchange.

Blupig, yeah you're right about the stickings in programming they need to be redone...
